I understand swap deals rarely happen in football but was wondering how often or how likely players are used as makeweights in deals?

Just wondering as not saying these will happen but with Richarlison linked with Chelsea and branthwaite linked to Man City whether money and players could be involved if were to happen?

Pressed send too soon.

With our finances in a mess would it be something we’d look to do to try and maximise sales and returns?

For instance could Richarlison to Chelsea be cash plus a player back to us? (Loftus-cheek, batshuyai, Gallagher, Broja, Colwill or gilmour etc)

Branthwaite to Man City be used in a deal for Zinchenko with us paying some cash on top?

Again not expecting these to happen. Just wondering how likely these type of deals are?

{Ed002's Note - They are not going to happen.}

Cheers Ed wasn’t expecting them to happen but was wondering if player plus cash deals are something that do happen?

{Ed002's Note - They happen pretty regularly.}

I think the club would be looking for sales only to try and help with our FFP issues.

No they won't.
They have just dumped 300k off the wage bill. They will have some movement in the window.

That's 15 million of the wages per year. Where is the movement Brassington?
45 Mill over the 3 rolling p/ s years but we still lost 200mill minus the 170 afforded to C.V.
Continuing to replace some of that 300k isn't going to help us. We need to get rid of that and more.
Get the wages down from 85% of the revenue without adding to it might help.

We got rid of some last year, and more this year. We’ll sign players, just not on £100k+ a year.
