Atsu is off the African Nations Cup in January, seems a strange move to me to loan a player that's going to miss a lot of our run in

2.) The 2015 Africa Cup of Nations runs from Saturday, 17th January, to Sunday, 8th February.
Our Premier League fixtures during this period are:
17th January - West Bromwich Albion (home)
31st January - Crystal Palace (away)
7th February - Liverpool (home)
If we progress in the cup competitions, there'll be these fixtures:
20th/21st January is scheduled for the Football League Cup (Capital One Cup) semi-finals 1st leg
24th January is scheduled for the FA Cup 4th round
27th/28th January is scheduled for the Football League Cup (Capital One Cup) semi-finals 2nd leg
The UEFA Europa League restarts on 19th February with the round-of-32 - so isn't affected by the Africa Cup of Nations.
So, would the absence of a couple of players (Kone and maybe Atsu) be a major problem?

Ed0025, I apologise if I have been giving you sleepless nights (not literally just a metaphor) and if my posts have been aggressive or derogatory towards certain members. I would als o like to publicly apologise to Degsy for having a pop at him like I have. And I shall do my upmost to curb my temper from here on in. Last thing I want is to cause grief on the board .

I have no idea if I have got this right BUT, looking at Chelseas squad numbers for this season, Lukaku, Moses and Coutois all don't seem to have been given one? Costa is there and has one, those 3 and 2 others don't. Could mean nothing like but hmmmm (adds fuel to the conspiracy fire)

1.) Costa was in it though. My first impression was it was last years but it had 2014/15 and Costa was in the listings. It may well just be an addition which is why I said I may be wrong but that's how it read

Fair enough Swan, thanks for the info. I'm not up to speed on our rezzies if I 'm honest. I just about get enough time to go the senior games so nice ine for the heads up. Other than what Swan says sitea, it looks like we need to bring a left footed centre back in. Who that is I have no idea.
Swan you seem up to speed with the kids I'm honestly not. Other than Duffy (who I think is right footed anyway) do we have a natural left sided cb that could stand in if needed. @sitea I'm note sure who I want to be honest matey I've not really seen us linked to one as of yet.
He never really got a chance to be fair Matt did he but I'm not keen on him coming back either tbh I just don't fancy him although I should I suppose reserve judgement until I've seen him more. Dunno what it is about him he just doesn't appeal to me. I know that's very narrow minded and not usually like me but I can't help myself with him.
I know we have players to come back like but I thought we looked woefully short up top. Imagine an injury to Mirallas and Lukaku? We'd be absolutely goosed. Our starting 11 is great, we need attacking quality ASAp imo.
I think you've had a bump on the head Howie mate, the fans who pay their hard earned money into supporting the club have every right to want to see it reinvested into players and success. Without the fans the club doesn't exist. The point I was making was he may not have the money to go or it may be leaving him short so don't jump down his throat for considering not going. All todays money goes to charity and of course I know the players do a lot for charity and so they should they're in a very priviladge
Position and it's the least they can do. They get paid handsomely for doing something they love doing so please don't tell me that the players deserve any more than what they're already getting because they get enough, it's the joe bloggs fans who struggle every year to go and watch the game that deserve the credit, yourself included mate. I probably, after mine and both my kids season tickets, kits, programmes etc give the club over 3 grand (prob more with the odd away and cup games ) and so do thousands of others. That's a lot to a working lad like myself. Players get that for a half a days pay mate.

Howie you're miles off the mark here son. What about the fans who spend all their money watching the team. I remember in my younger days walking from Netherton to Goodison and back in any weather to watch the game because I couldn't afford to go, I've hitched to away grounds, bunked trains from lime st, been nabbed bunking on the official man city supporters club and booted off in the middle of nowhere with not a clue where maine rd was I could go on all night. Never EVER question a fans loyalty because he is pondering a friendly. Doing so only serves to prove you've never left yourself with literally nothing to watch your team. Do you think the players really care about that. Or even understand what its like to have to live hand to mouth to watch your team?
