Been told by an ex everton player a few years older than Barkley that he's signed for city for next season for 42 mil, it would of been this year but it would of took them over the fair play limit, got a long time to go to see if this happens but we will see

Wouldnt make any difference as they could transfer him or others to their club in Australia and loan him back.
Same as what they are doing with Frank Lumpard

Think the rumour is total Jarg!

2.) Mikedblue: that's absolute bull. he just extended his contract and he LOVES Everton.

Beside, 42 mio aren't enough and bobby knows that.

3.) Is the ex-player a has-been or a never-wasser?

4.) 23 Aug 2014 04:50:24
Think he's more of a 'never-been' sid

5.) What a load garbage! He's going nowhere! Absolute BULL lad!

Just a thought even if we do have extra money and the likes of man city and such basically don't abide by the financial fair play I have always assumed we have been paying wages up to the ceiling of what we can to survive, yes we have a new injection via the new deal but how much room do we have to play with considering all are other income hasn't changed.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City have suffered for not meeting FFP rules and have since worked within the framework. In the future it will be tougher for a number of clubs that have significant sponsorship - as there will likely be a cap. Manchester City (a) have a larger income than most, and (b) whilst working within the rules are making use of some pretty extreme sponsorship that comes via their owner's business interests. SO the figures are skewed.

This is seen as an issue by UEFA and the reason there have been efforts over the past three years or so to agree a sponsorship cap. UEFA are happy for those European clubs that meet (now twice a year) to come up with a proposal, but so far they have failed to agree a figure. UEFA are aware that taking the matter to the European Club Association will not help them. Eventually they will come up with a cap themselves and that will be it. A similar issue is being discussed about capping TV and media income for FFP. With a senior official moved on it might be easier to push something through as the resistance was related to the three clubs that would be most impacted by a change include Manchester City and two clubs that play in the French league.}

to think that a year ago we were pushing for fourth to were we are now is absolutely laughable, were sniffing round free transfers and players other clubs want rid, people say we were stagnant under moyes but in his last season we were dominating gmes like I have never seen before as a blue and with shrewd signings Martinez carried it on into his first season which i'm now thinking had more to do with players holding the existing folicy rather than the new one which came to fruition last year.

spain ditched the tika taki yet RM seems to have one train of thought and asking are cbs to play like Xavi and iniestas doing triangles off the keeper is ludicrous. the signings have highlighted is lack of knowledge on the transfer market I fear this year will mirror last but the board will be happy with 10th, looks like its wooden seats til I die if the money continues because mid table is win win for the board

Just looked around other teams pages and confirmed that we are the most depressing fans in the country, moan moan moan from virtually everyone on this site, speculation yet again regarding who we are looking at buying which results in yet more slating of the club, no one on here actually knows for certain any player we are looking at, I know its nearly the start of the season but its not as if every other club has gone out and spent millions is it, come on Blues, pick yourselves up will ye

Degs

2.) 27 Jul 2015 08:24:42
Degs, almost every other club has spent millions! West Ham and Newcastle have both spent over £20 million! Even Watford have spent. As it stands we have spent the third least in the premiership with £4.3M. Bournemouth who we should be able to dwarf financially have spent twice the amount as us with £8M. Although I'm not saying we won't spend eventually you can see why people are worried as at the moment it does not look like we are going for that big signing that can take us to the next level. Also Martinez stated he knew his targets in January. If so get them in asap so we can actually prepare for the season. If we lose stones and have to play our horrific opening run with an untested centre back paring we could just be setting ourselves up for failure. Obviously as fans though we are all fickle and as soon as we spend £10M on someone I have never heard of I will be over the moon again but for now I am a little concerned!

3.) 27 Jul 2015 09:41:04
In Martinez first season he was given far to much credit as the second season proved. In the first he definitely profited from the same never say die spirit left by Moyes, in the second he soon knocked that out of them. That pre-season hammering by Arsenal was no blip but rather a sign of things to come. RM just does not seem to accept his methods could be wrong both in game time and training (witness the hamstring toll). I am still waiting to be proved wrong but so far RM is demonstrating he is out of his depth.

{Ed025's Note - i happen to agree with you dunc, it was ok at wigan to underachieve as expectation has always been low but at everton we dont suffer fools gladly, i would love it if he was a success as he is such a charming and press friendly guy, but the well being and status of our great club is paramount and if things start badly this season i would hope he would be replaced in the near future. now i must agree that our board seem to be very backward in coming forward with funds and they must also be held accountable, i am saying this out of concern for our club and just not having a go at them for moanings sake mate..

4.) 27 Jul 2015 11:25:50
Ed 25 you are such a pessimist and obviously dislike Martinez intensely by all the comments you made over the last 6-9 months. We have 5 weeks to go until transfer window closed I am optimistic we will get at least 2 good signings and a couple of exciting loans. I too am concerned for our great club and we were unprepared and awful last season however I believe we will surprise many people with our form this season
Wellzee

{Ed025's Note - i dont dislike roberto wellzee in fact i really like him..just not as manager at my club mate, but i do wish i could get a pair of them rose tinted glasses that you are sporting .. :)

Swan what I'm saying re the Howard post, didn't want to write on the bottom of a page, the guys gave a lot for Everton, poeple that go the game can see he dosnt control his box properly, dosnt come for crosses when there 2 yards away but I think sometimes you unload a bit too much, put 4 keepers in goal last year we would still have passed it round for hours like numpties anyway, defensive mistakes contributed in them games also which is undeniable

Is just a basic move by betting companies for poeple to think that someone is a dead cert only for them to go back out in the odds and someone else to become short odds, nothing new they do this all the time.

I'd think bilic was happy were he is and Pellegrino is basically a free agent, we need a fresh approach to the team though we look stale even yesterday was poor I can't see how with the pressure from fans we will just let the unrest continue into next season something has to give it's not good and it's frustrating to even watch.

Can't beileve poeple think mourinho is possible, despite doing a god awful job lately by disrupting the whole of Chelsea do poeple really beileve he's a genuine candidate, by the way Rooney will be in the USA next because money talks and even with 100 billion we can't offer more.

Simone, mourinho n pellegrini I love the optimism but let's get serious they wouldn't consider us, new money but still the same money constraints due to fan coal fair play, were at are limit and that won't change.

In financial we are a small club you can talk past trophys and prestige but in were in a similar position as Liverpool with Suarez both had ambition to leave with big teams interested it's natural in foitball.

Maybe but Gibson hit somebody drink driving and plays 5 games a season and gets a 2 year contract, enner had police chasing him round a pitch last week, seems a little harsh to me, obviously we don't know thewhole truth but there's bigger idiots getting away with a lot more in football I suppose the better the player the better the treatment.

I thinks it's a disgrace to be honest hardly the poeples club doing that to someone who actually hasn't done nothing wrong, questions have to be asked over his signings but similar to ya ya and Bastian it's so degrading and humiliating and not his fault at all.
