Thanks Ed. What are your thoughts on Mancini and the likelihood of it happening?

craighoyland

{Ed025's Note - i like his enthusiasm craig but feel that at this juncture he has to be considered an outsider mate..

1.) 30 May 2016 12:50:07
I agree an outsider mate, I don't know why but something tells me that's what the next manager will be, somebody unexpected and hardly discussed, a complete shock!

2.) 31 May 2016 11:58:43
My thoughts exactly ed.

3.) 31 May 2016 12:05:50
Sorry ed misread i thout you said pellegrini. I would like to retract my comment please haha.

Hi Ed. Do you know anything on the manager situation? Remember when the yank takeover was 'a done deal' and then, out of the blue we were announcing Moshiri. Nobody had a clue about that, not even a sniff and i'm thinking the manager appointment will go the same way. We always do things quietly and to me, if names are being banded about then they're not likely to happen. It's all media hype, none of the names have come from the club. Just wondered if you had any sensible inside info. Thanks in advance mate.

craighoyland

{Ed025's Note - the club do keep their cards close to their chest craig but i feel the names linked are more or less true, there could of course be a wild card who comes out of the blue but who that will be mate is unclear at the moment..

Hi Ed, any more news on Niasse? I've heard he's supposed to be having a medical for us tomorrow. Also I've seen that you think we may lose Lukaku, if he does leave in the summer, how much do you think we would get for him in your opinion and do you think Niasse is a good enough replacement?

craighoyland

{Ed025's Note - hes due to have a medical today craig as you say and then its all about personal terms, everton will be looking for in the region of £50m i would think for rom but getting that is another matter, i dont know much about niasse to be honest mate but he looks a good signing on the face of it, i expect that hes not a direct replacement for lukaku and that we will be looking for a forward come summer..

1.) 01 Feb 2016 09:06:46
Due to have a medical today? Latest I have is that not even sure the bid has been accepted. Willing to be proved wrong but with other Clubs reputedly interested it is beginning to sound/ look like yet another Russian Club playing transfer roulette.

{Ed025's Note - love that last line DM.. :)

2.) 01 Feb 2016 09:07:32
cash in on ROM he is too inconsistent, great player on his day but often breaks up the passing.

{Ed025's Note - i certainly dont want him to go alan hes top quality for me, but alas i think he will move on this summer..

3.) 01 Feb 2016 09:18:32
Yeah, decided to start using (attempting) humour to add to the long running joke and his phenomenal one liners. Monday eh!

{Ed025's Note - it worked for me mate.. :)

Hi ed, can you give us any info at all on possible incomings? Absolutely crapping myself with the lack of activity, we all know what we need, is there any sign of a quality no 10 or are we kidding ourselves? What's happened to the TV money, please give us some info mate!

craighoyland

{Ed025's Note - nothing at the moment craig but we are expecting a bit of late activity, will it be the big one we crave?..a charlie austin or jordan rhodes?or will it be the safe lennon option or even nobody?..we will see today mate..

1.) 01 Sep 2015 09:51:49
Hope it's not lennon

Thanks for the feed back Ed. do you think the 3 RM to bring in could be Yarmolenko, Funes Mori and Rodriguez?

craighoyland

{Ed025's Note - mori looks nailed on craig, yarmolenko is probable but not certain, rodriguez im not sure about mate..

Hi Ed, what can you tell us about who the DoF will be or even if we will still go down that route? Would be in dreamland if we managed to get Monchi. Cheers Ed.

craighoyland

{Ed002's Note - RTFP.}

Aha hahaha.

03 Jun 2016 13:54:22
Hi Ed, can you tell us anything about who the DoF is likely to be. Monchi and Koeman together would be dreamland. Thanks.

craighoyland

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed overnight - Monchi is a man that Everton are very keen on.}

I think come the summer, Moshiri will set about making us great again and his first signing will be a manager, a proven one! Sick of hearing Eddie Howe, Mark Hughes and Moyes shouts! I mean seriously, EDDIE HOWE? Is that the extent of people's expectations? I'll say it again, EDDIE HOWE? We're billionaires now with a truck load of tv money to follow and those 3 are the best we can come up with? I despair, I really do! Personally I'd sack Martinez now, cup or no cup he needs to go and quickly imo but come on people, think bigger and expect more, don't accept mediocrity just because it's been that way for so long? Who do you think we could realistically bring in Ed? I'd like Dieter Hecking.

craighoyland

{Ed003's Note - Doesn't matter you are billionaires now with a truck load of tv money,hire and fire until you get what you want.}

1.) 07 Apr 2016 06:10:00
i hope we don't start going down that route Ed but seems the way rich owners do things as they crave success.

2.) 07 Apr 2016 06:54:08
There is a lot of the same names being branded about. My number one and I haven't seen anyone mention him yet is Diego Simeone. I said he'd be my choice before and I think he is a class manager.

Not likely to happen, as far as I'm aware he can't speak English. There is a lot of managers coming from the continent lately and all top managers. City's, Chelsea's Reds along with Leicester and Southampton previously.

Be Boer or Koeman would be good appointments either. I don't care who it is as long as they bring stability at the back and maybe bring success.

3.) 07 Apr 2016 11:44:44
Eddie Howe has a fantastic record and is an Evertonian, I would rather have him than some guy who knows nothing about the Premier league. He is a proven winner could maybe become the next Ferguson if given the chance.
I do not think he will get the chance unfortunately as there is an anti British attitude bordering on racism by club owners against British managers it annoys me but have to exept it.
I also notice that everyone seems to want to buy players from abroad, well Vardy is British, so is Barclay, so is Ali etc.
Maybe I am bit old fashioned but I do believe we do not need to look abroad for a manager.

4.) 07 Apr 2016 12:37:55
Fair enough milomj but as far as I can remember Ed002 said Howe won't take a job this far north. Maybe I'm mistaken about if it was Howe, could be some other manager. It was mentioned a couple of months ago anyway.

Hell it could of been a different Ed. It's just from memory. Your dead right a British manager would be preferable but the majority seem to want Koeman or De Boer. At least on here.

Seems to be a consensus of wanting an experienced manager who may bring success quite quickly and people seem to be sick of a new up and coming manager. Not my opinion but is feeling I'm getting from posts here.

I can only speak for myself and my choice above knows how to have a tight defense. Something we need badly imho. Main reason for picking him and it seems to me that he is doing a good job at Athletico.
