Reading between the lines I still don't think it's clear that Sam will be staying. All he said is that he's received clarity on next season. That could be that he's been told that he's not required but he's never going to say that to the press. With regards to arranging pre season then surely this is done by others at the club. I know the manager will have a say but our pre season has been similar for a number of years regardless of who's in charge. More to come me thinks!

I hope he is going but I've just got this little voice in the back of my mind saying that he's been told he can see out his contract, I hope I'm wrong we can't put up with the type of football he serves us each week. And also concerning transfer would players actually come when in 12 months time if and when we get a new manager they might be surplus to requirements just so many factors atm think we will find out after that final game.

I personally think Sam knows he won't be staying, I think the contract was to give an illusion of longer term status instead of his usual fire fighting job.
Why I think this is that whenever you see him interviewed he seems distant to the club and its fans, you never feel a togetherness or a feeling of passion for the club unlike DM or even RM did.
For me he is just passing has done the job and will be gone, ask yourself about the alleged questionnaire situation was it a mistake?
The club know he is not widely accepted by the fans and although it is not our decision EFC normally will take this consideration seriously.

I can't believe that anyone on the board are happy to keep this self opinionated tosser as manager of our club. Bill you have grown up watching the great players and style of football over the years. Surely you can't be happy with the dross that's on show now.

Sorry boys, I don’t agree. I want him gone - but I don’t think the press conference leaves much to the imagination. He thinks he’s staying, he’s planning preseason and for the ins and outs of players. Yes, it could be a smokescreen, but looks to me like he’s been given the green light to crack on.

He not have got a clear green light from FM, but it doesn’t sound like he got a definite red stop light either - hopefully the lights are now at least at amber and he’ll be halted soon.
