The increased wealth of the Chinese is no indication that they'll spend more money on the club.

You only have to look at what Chinese Clubs are paying to see what they are capable of. Also the Chinese market and potential fan base would be a huge plus for the future of Everton.

just trying my jinx Ed, would love some of the Billions China have suddenly got to come our way.

{Ed025's Note - dont get me wrong degs the money would be great, but there is a certain gratification one gets from being the david in the footballing world of goliaths for me, just look at leicester this season, their squad cost less than half of what city paid for raheem sterling yet they sit proudly on top of the league, i have always loved that about everton, the underdog factor you might say or maybe im just a hopeless romantic who likes to see the little guy give the bully a bloody nose now and again mate..

I still think we will be a small fish with these Americans. I just hope they put in enough for us to be debt free and finance a stadium. If this squad sticks together and we start winning things, the will have their money back in a few years.

{Ed025's Note - the stadium is my priority as well geoff, i just hope its not at the expense of the team like arsenal, coventry and southampton off the top of my head who suffered because financial restrictions meant that because of the cost money was not available for players, the last 2 ending up being relegated....but maybe im just being a doubting thomas who is happy with my comfort blanket of top half premiership mediocrity mate..

I understand what you are saying Ed but its the "now and again" bit for me mate, very very rare as shown with our last Cup in the cabinet, I want Citys Billions to take us up to the top, more the merrier for me, any club that breaks into Chinas new found wealth will be set for life and its just starting out really, I know a lot support the Barcas, RM, Utds but that's just because they are following what the next man/ woman supports, if a large corporation took on a Prem club and pushed it hard enough in that country then the sky's the limit, don't get me wrong I am also totally happy with the American guys too as these know how to run, manage and make a business profitable and successful.

{Ed025's Note - its probably just me being a dinosaur degs, i know we need investment but fear that with our luck we might get the next gillette and hicks or shinawatra...ah well, lets just suck it and see mate..

Agree ed, if this happens would like them to focus on a new stadium and back the manager with a few quid in the transfer market, sort out contracts for existing players! No need for a QPR situation where they bought nearly an entire squad of money grabbers which failed for them, I'm excited to see what there plans would be :-)

{Ed025's Note - so am i smeg, im waiting to see the blueprint though before i make my mind up mate...not that my opinion matters a jot.. :)

Think I'd prefer to have investment from the yanks now rather than waiting to see IF the Chinese come in. Like you ed, wanna see what there plans are before running round the streets in stars and stripes undies.

{Ed025's Note - i do that most weekends anyway geoff.. :)

Hahaha think I saw you by garlands last Saturday, ed. Hahaha.

{Ed025's Note - yeah that was me geoff, i was sporting a yellow cape, thigh length leather boots and a burberry cap.. :)

Interest from the chinese doesn't even mean they'll put in a bid, it's a long road from interest to a takeover. I'd probably take the risk and have investment from the Americans now. This guy was worth £490m ten years ago and supposedly his fortune has increased significantly since then. Could be well into the billions now. There could also be other backers in the background worth billions too for all we know. Worth the risk I say.

It said on radio yesterday that its not a takeover its investment.
