Hi Eds, will we be in for Caulker this summer?

bluemanno

{Ed025's Note - i really dont know manno...it will depend who is in charge mate..

1.) 23 Mar 2015 00:28:22
I hope not he was dreadful today.

2.) 23 Mar 2015 21:15:45
A few thoughts about Caulker.
If he wasn't good enough for Tottenham, why would he be good enough for us?
He went to Cardiff City and they were relegated - doesn't bode well does it?
He then moves to QPR and they concede tons of goals and are on their way to relegation - seeing a pattern here?
However, I accept that we need some experienced centre back(s) as replacements for Distin & Alcaraz (they surely must leave at the end of the season), as we'll obviously need cover for Jagilelka & Stones until our younger defensive players (Galloway, etc.) can hold down a first team place. I'm just not convinced (but what do I know!) that Caulker is the answer. It's all opinions, of course ;-)
Also, I just hope that Stones isn't subject to overwhelming interest - and a bid too good to turn down - from a Champions League club, as we could be hard pressed to keep him - and that would really put us in the you-know-what as far as centre backs go!

03 Mar 2015 06:17:46
Is it true about Kovacic, I hope it is. That would mean Mirallas is gone though.

bluemanno

1.) 03 Mar 2015 07:36:09
Why would mirallas be gone? Kovecic is a centre midfielder, abit like Gibson, in he sprays the ball about but doesn't get half the injuries.

2.) 03 Mar 2015 09:08:27
I can't see that happening, we're not exactly looking enticing for players right now. Would be a quality signing if it did happen just can't see it

3.) 03 Mar 2015 14:09:02
I remember hearing about him when he was 17, only seen him 4 times, all of which he played central midfield, seems to have halted and I doubt he'd want to come here.

4.) 04 Mar 2015 01:01:16
roll up, roll up. get your new season tickets here, lol

13 Feb 2015 21:08:20
Calm down people, he didn't even say he wants to leave now. He knows he is not good enough yet. He wants to become the kind of player the big clubs want, and in all honesty that's what every player wants. They want to be the best and play for the best. There are clearly dressing room issues, we all know that. So people, please do not react to stupid articles like that, which are clearly manipulated to suit the papers needs for sensationalism.

bluemanno

{Ed025's Note - i know what you mean manno, but he must have said something to that effect or he would be tweeting blue murder..

1.) 14 Feb 2015 00:49:37
Talking to a chelski mate of mine he tried to pull the same there I.e if he was not center of attention he lost interest, Jose is no mug and for that reason got rid. I said from day one we overpaid for him and think this may come to bite us in the arse, let's sell him and go for Ings.

{Ed007's Note - It was nothing to do with Mourinho, the decision to offload Lukaku was taken further up the food chain at Chelsea.}

2.) 14 Feb 2015 03:03:56
Everton is know ones steping stone, you come here to win, to play great football, for a great club, for great supporters, if you come with one eye to move on to "better thing" please don't bother putting pen to paper, no matter how talented you are-or think you are.

3.) 14 Feb 2015 12:16:41
Completely agree with the original post. We all know we're nowhere near the best, and Lukaku has no deep lying affiliation to us, so of course he's hoping to move up in his career. EVERYONE BUT A SCOUSER WOULD FEEL THE SAME. Doesn't mean he wants to leave now, just that he has ambition. If anything, I'd be more willing if he was just content with mediocrity.

4.) 14 Feb 2015 20:13:36
You don't need to be a scouser to have loyalty to the club. Look at all the non scouser ex players who came to the area and stayed here, some still working for the club. I'm not a scouser but came to the area 60 years ago when Jonny Carey was manager and followed Everton ever since. Didn't even think about following the other lot.

5.) 15 Feb 2015 09:22:03
Which is why Wolfsburg are now interested in him. Roberto has got us in such a state (in particular refusing to see the blinding obvious of needing to supply Lukaku and play to his strengths) that we unfortunately cannot afford the time to wait for Luk to fulfill his potential. I say if we can get close to what we paid for him then he can go.

What is going on? George Green released and David Henen sent back to Greece.

bluemanno

1.) 11 Jun 2015 01:19:29
Green didn't pan out, won't be premier league quality. Henen was always going back to Greece as he was on loan. Now we need to sign him permanently.

2.) 11 Jun 2015 02:42:15
And quickly please

03 May 2015 00:51:27
Hangover from the ManU win, he could see it coming. What sought of rubbish is that.

bluemanno

1.) 03 May 2015 06:16:50
You think that was a let down? I just watched the 2 best fighters of my generation, something I've waited 5 years for. What did I get? A half assed manny pacquiao getting wrestled for 36 minutes. Still made better viewing than our time under moyes.

18 Apr 2015 15:14:05
11mins in and I don't think I can be arsed staying up to watch this. Why didn't Baines take the penalty, what the hell is going on?

bluemanno

1.) 18 Apr 2015 16:07:36
Burnley now down to 10 men
if we don't win this, then that's it for Mr.Bean.
no excuses today, 3 points or he's gone!!!!!!!!!!

19 Mar 2015 21:26:24
I'm done. Not staying up to 3 and 4 in the morning to watch Everton as long as Martinez is manager.

bluemanno

{Ed025's Note - dont blame you manno..

09 Feb 2015 21:25:46
Can we please stop this bitterness and negativity. I have followed this club from afar in Australia for over 3 decades. I was born blue, even though my father is red I am still blue, he couldn't get it out of me. I only started looking at these forums about 12 months ago and I regret it. All the negativity just beats you down. True, I could just not look at it anymore, but unfortunately it is the only way that I feel that I can connect with other Evertonians.

bluemanno

1.) Agreed (and guilty as charged). Time to pull together a direct our fury at the Gunners.

I pledge positivity henceforth.

2.) It would be great if the red rubbish had no reason to call us bitter blues anymore

{Ed001's Note - stop being so bitter as to use the sh*** word then! That is inherently bitter and foul. No one on the Liverpool site is allowed to call Everton the blueshhhh, yet you are all so pathetic that not one of you can show any respect to Liverpool. Until the moment you grow up and start showing others respect, you will be treated with complete disrespect yourselves.}

3.) Woh there I know plenty and I mean plenty of reds that call us blue shhhhh and worse. And we do the same. That's not bitter it's banter take that away from football and what's the point!

{Ed001's Note - how is it banter? It is being nasty, that is not banter. The point is you can have banter without being offensive and bitter.}

4.) 10 Feb 2015 10:37:52
Ed01, with respect, I think you have gone a bit over the top in that reply. After all, this is a banter site for banter! You can't honestly tell us any LFC fans have not called any EFC fans bitter or blueshhhh (as you put it) can you? They slate us, they slate Man U and they slate Chelsea fans just as much as they receive stick. To call us all pathetic is also a slight on yourself as well as your clubs fans. Rightly or wrongly, this is what fans at every club do, especially with derby teams. Football, in general, is bitter and foul these days. I blame Murdoch and Sky tv.
I know reds who respect Everton, I know blues who respect Liverpool. I also know people on both sides that have total disdain for the other. BOTH sides. I just don't see where this attack has come from, please can you explain? I mean, if bluemanno had been ripping LFC and it's staff/fans to pieces for no apparent reason then you would have a point. The two terms he posted are commonly used by both sets of supporters on a daily basis. I really wouldn't get too upset over it! But, contrary to what LFC fans think of us blues, we are civil people. Most would accept your apology for branding them 'pathetic', 'disrespectful' and that they need to grow up. Remember, however, that people who feel an injustice when childish name calling has arisen, probably wouldn't win an argument by resorting to juvenile retorts themselves :) Have a nice day

{Ed001's Note - sorry but if you have to sit and read through the vile posts being called a shhhh every time you are trying to help out, you would soon get annoyed. I don't allow the Liverpool fans to refer to Everton by those terms, yet you to a man on here, think it is ok to refer to Liverpool with a term that was strongly objected to by Everton fans when it did slip through. If you think it is ok, then you are not the kind of person I want on these sites and you can feel welcome to go elsewhere. You are not sat at home talking to your friends and family, you are in a public place and should act like it. If you were sat in the middle of 100 strangers and you started referring to some of them as shhhhh do you think that would be ok? No, so why do you think it is ok to do so here? If you don't like it go to one of those sites that think it is ok to post abuse, and call it banter. Now do not say you are speaking with respect only to follow it with the most disrespectful, patronising post following it. Try showing respect and you will receive it, but right now you have earnt nothing but disdain. Oh and I had to edit out some of the offensive words in the original post, so perhaps wind your neck in a bit.}

5.) Ed001: I have never referred to them as the "RS" - I've always found that term to be offensive, unnecessary and childish. However, I do refer to them as the "darkside" because they're the other "side" of the park and because I irrationally attribute their success to them practising the dark arts (!) and because (in a pathetic attempt at false rationalisation) I see so many people drawn to them rather than to the blue half of Merseyside. I don't think I'm "bitter" - although I might well be twisted (!) - but I do wish that Everton had done "better" in recent years. Ho hum.
;-)

{Ed001's Note - and darkside would be what I would call banter, it shows no disrespect but a sense of humour. It could never be termed offensive. Though I would have to wonder, isn't the Everton blue a darker colour than Liverpool's red? Would that not make you the dark side? I will have to have a word with Bill about that, maybe he could run a marketing campaign based on that?}

6.) Ed001 are u havin a laugh we even get liverpool fans comin on our site slaggin us of so I think your wrong in sayin they show us respect because theye dont.

{Ed001's Note - I never said they did, I said you can't complain about a lack of respect when you are being offensive to them! We have to edit more Everton posts than any of the other posts to remove offensive words aimed at other teams. Almost every single time it is an offensive reference to Liverpool. When all you give out is nastiness, you will only get it back at you. It is going the way of Scottish football, when the Merseyside derby used to be the best in the world, it is now just another derby. It used to be special, now it is just nasty. It needs to change or both sides will suffer because they lose that usp from their club. Everton are trying to market themselves as a nice family club, to bring in future generations. A friendly derby, contested on the field, not in the stands, with families standing together in red and blue is a big part of that image. It won't happen while there is such bitterness between the fans. Yes fans go between the sites slagging each other off, but it is hardly as bad as you are making out. There is also Everton fans regularly visiting the Liverpool site too. So long as they don't get offensive, I don't see the problem?}

7.) Mmmmm personally I blame the glory hunters from 'who knows where and who really cares anyway'

Some of my cousins are ' from the darker side' my next door neighbours when I was a kid were Reds I even went to Anfield with them and they came to Goodison with me cherry picking our matches of course.

The banter was an occasional natural exchange of words without venom full stop!

{Ed001's Note - most of those you are talking about don't care about Everton, sadly. I think that is half the problem. The nastiness is, to a large part, stemming from frustration from both sets of fans, with the way the derby has been lowered in importance in recent years. Trying to make it seem more important by using more and more offensive terms to describe each other will not make it so. The only way to rebuild it as a special match is to bring back the family atmosphere, as it was unique in world football. No one else at the top level had a local derby where the fans sat together happily and enjoyed the game together (well I say enjoyed....). Though as much of the problem is down to ticket prices, in the old days people would go to whichever side happened to be at home that week with their mates. Me dad, for instance, would go with a group of mates to the games, some were reds, some were blues, and they would just go each week to whoever was at home. Can anyone afford to do that any more?}

8.) Come on lads be more sensitive remember kopites. Wait am I allowed to say that. are a sensitive bunch I mean its always everybody else's fault. its a banter site and you should know what u let yourself in for when u agreed to help out on our site. Respect is earned not just given because you have a history. am not bitter I just dislike LFC and all it stands for.

9.) Sorry ed 001 but your talking absolute rubbish some of my closest friends and family are red shhhhhh and we both give each other stick over football using all kinds of phrases that would offend u. Does that mean I don't respect these people or they don't respect me. No it means were having banter/fun/ a laugh. Just because you don't let Liverpool supporters post thing doesn't mean that your opinion is right. U should try an relax a bit mate

I think Browner got upset about a comment on 14th August where Ed002 commented on why would Silva want to leave Sporting for a club like Everton.

You only have to look at what Chinese Clubs are paying to see what they are capable of. Also the Chinese market and potential fan base would be a huge plus for the future of Everton.

I think it would be 10 million. I would be happy with Januzaj and Deulofeu if it could be pulled off. Keep hold of Henen as well and get him playing in the Senior squad

Don't forget the fact that behind the scenes he has clearly started planning for a new stadium, and apperently he is bringing in someone new to the club that helped with Arsenal's new stadium. Yes it is early, but let's be optimistic for a change. Bored of red of my red friends calling me a "bitter blue", I'm not bitter, I am proud to be an Evertonian.

You never know. The club has done a great job with keeping big news out of the press recently. After all, most of us thought the club was going to be American or Chinese owned right about now. We all know how that ended.
