Got a question for you guys if you have time.
What do you guys think of your acadamy? Personally, I am really happy with ours with the likes of Sterling, Ibe, Flannagan and Suso coming through and looking impressive. Besides Barkley, is there anyone who you can see having such an impact as the likes of Sterling and Flanno have had for us?

Thanks lads

1.) Not really the academy when you buy them. so liverpool have one

2.) 18 Jul 2014 11:10:56
Sterling was from QPR's Academy not Liverpool's if I'm not mistaken?

I believe that Ryan Ledson will have a good future, looks a propect.

Others that should have a future would be Lundstram, Browning
and maybe Hope. With George Green not far behind them.

3.) @BradEFC You can't point out to the guy about Stirling being from the QPR Acedemy then go on to list George Green who we all know we got from the Bradford academy.

{Ed025's Note - fair point mike..

4.) Most players move acadamies, bringing them through would involve first team action, which we gave to the ones I listed. Do you know if Martinez will be starting to bring through some of these youngsters next season? I have been impressed with how barkley and stones have developed under him, could hold well for the national squad.

{Ed025's Note - i would like to see them get a run out in the europa OLR, i think its the perfect opportunity to give them a chance, even if its just coming on as a sub..

5.) 18 Jul 2014 15:16:13
haha I didn't mean to include him in the academy bit, just meant he's a youngster close to the first team

6.) If I was in your shoes, I would rather a stronger squad in the Europa League that the League Cup. I think the Europa should be used to help develop some of your current starters, like Barkley and Stones, against teams that play differently to the English game. Kids will learn more playing against a championship team as they play with more fight that a Romanian 2nd place team for example.

Shame you guys have missed out on the famous "finishing about the RS trophy" you have banged on about for the past two years. Gutted for you.

On a serious note though, I enjoyed watching you this year, playing some brilliant football with a young squad. Barkley and Stones have stood out for me. But your best asset is your manager, what a class act. His speech at the hillsborough service showed he is the perfect manager for you, true gent. Plus, he seems to know a thing or two about football, which helps. Your future looks very promising.

Still though, I hope you finish 17th next year haha. Well done on a great season lads, exceeded my (and many others) expectations. Been one of the best PL seasons in a long time.

1.) The "finishing about the RS trophy". new on me that :-/

2.) Both teams had a good season mate' but on your behalf Rogers cost you the league because he has no plan B, teams are starting to find yis out now.I am not having a go but normal service will resume next year and I can see you struggle to get into the top 4 it was a 1 hit wonder by you this year and with your club in financial mess losing a million pound a week I just don't think yis will last long back in the top 4.Rogers has to change his tactics next year otherwise it will be a long season for yis good luck and well done this year.

3.) Use fans don't set ourselves unrealistic targets to be then ridiculed afterwards. Unlike a team who celebrated the league 4 weeks ago. Still, you reds have given us such laughter the past 2 weeks. You call us bitter yet your the most bitter fans in the league. keep giving us the material and well done on finishing above us this season. and the trophy count this season is Moyes 1 Gerrard 0

4.) Have to agree Blueboy just ask Utd fans and they will tell you Lfc fans are bitter to the bone, and yes they made a laughing stock of themselves thinking they won the league weeks ago.I wonder if the comedy channel will try show there games next year.

5.) Fair post mate, nice words (I think!). The future is rosy for us, been a great year given the usual constraints every Everton manager has to work under. We did great business in summer and Martinez has totally transformed how we play. As for yous, not a bad season ey. Not too bad at all (gritted teeth)

6.) Makes no sense to start the post with a condescending opening sentence then a little bit of praise all because you missed out on the title, haha so so sad

7.) OneLastRun. Glad we were able to assist your end to the season with that home defeat to Man City

I think you will push for top 4 again this year. You have a manager who loves finding gems, he found a few decent ones to come to Wigan. With the pull of Europa, the size of your club too and Martinez, you have a good season to look forward too. IF you get the right players and cope with Europa League, but I can't see Martinez struggling with that too much, or at least not for long.

Oli, as a red, I thought your players gave their all against City. The atmosphere was very subdued though. Not here to discuss that however, more to agree with Swan. As a club, we field 6 English players, and personally I think Flanagan should get a call up to the squad, he has been one of our most consistent players this season. Same for Stones, he looks like he could be a great centre half in years to come. Yet, we NEVER get credit for it. Liverpool, Everton and Southampton and Arsenal are the best teams in the league for the national squad.

{Ed025's Note - no argument from me OLR mate..
