I can see where you are coming from and I think it's a valid point. The fact is we were more direct with Lukaku in the team but now he's gone it's a different style of attack without the big target man. Who would you have to help though. Personally for me I'd like to see somebody like Thierry Henry giving some striking tips. His movement was great and he scored some brilliant goals.

Cheers Ed025 for the welcome. I definitely agree it will take time with so many new players in the first team squad. Obviously some supporters will always be impatient and expect instant success especially with what will be the usual look at the money we've spent remarks. I'm looking at the quality and depth we are adding to the squad positions rather than looking at how much each player has cost. I can't remember ever being so excited for the season to start. I'm not expecting miracles this season, I'm trying to keep myself grounded and not get carried away with it all. I'll be quietly hoping we can challenge for a top 6 spot. Any improvement in the league position is good in my book.

Hi guys a fellow toffee here. I'm a long time lurker but a first time poster. I really love reading the rumours and banter pages and have done so daily for well over 2 years. I'd just like to say the input and relevant information we get from the various Eds is first class.

Anyway back to the game against Ruzomberok (7:45 kick off on ITV4) tonight. I'm not a negative supporter by any means but I can recall how frustrated I was with the teams performance last week. It was just so slow going forward and lots of passes across the pitch not really doing anything with our possession. Saying that we still got the win so I was eventually happy after the final whistle went. I celebrated like a lunatic!

As lots of you guys have said it will take time for the team to gel and I totally agree. I'm praying for a much better performance tonight and hope we try and kill the game off early. 0-3 to our lads is what I'm predicting.

{Ed025's Note - welcome howie, its not easy when players have not played together are trying to form a team, it will come but its going to take a bit of time so patience is the key for us supporters mate..
