Not being a doom merchant because I do believe we're heading in the right direction and a couple more windows will see us pushing for a top half finish again in the next couple of seasons.
But. you just cannot sit back and play counter attacking football hoping to nick a 1-0 when you have a keeper that has proven time after time that he has bad errors in him, combined with not having a good finisher in the squad.
Today was classic example - we missed 2 chances that should have been scored (but honestly didn't expect either to hit the net) then gift them a goal!
I've always said Pickford would be a phenomenal 5 aside keeper. When it comes to instinctive saves within his range he is outstanding and I guess to get that bit we just have to accept the errors, lack of presence etc.

He's made the most saves of any top flight keeper. He was damned if he did or didn't with the kane pen. In years gone by kane would have been waved to get up. As with England, our goalie isn't the problem.

Just seen it again and it looks a little dodgy to me. Doesn't seem much contact.

It was a pen and pick makes errors that cost points regularly!
However, this season he has saved us more points than lost.

I thought it looked dodgy when I saw it too. U can say great CF play but he was definitely looking for it, for me he ran into Pickford rather than Pickford taking him out. That changed the whole game for me, I think we were just getting into our stride, that goal allowed spurs to play with more freedom and from that moment on we were backs to the walls. I’d have taken a 0 0 at the start and I think that would have been the score had the pen not been given, I think that pen decision could have gone either way and had it of been waved away I’d be intrigued to see if VAR would have given it or just gone with the on field refs decision?
