Can anybody honestly say that the news that we are about to sign Andros Townsend has set their pulse racing?

I was always impressed by Townsend whenever I saw him play, mainly because he always put effort in unlike some of our bunch. Having said that I am not impressed when a Manager comes into a club and has to recruit a 30 year old player (or a younger one that has failed to make the grade with other clubs) who played for him previously. It gives the impression that the Manager has no clue about any other players apart from the ones he has previously managed.

I think the opposite Blue Mike. It says to me that he likes the player and, possibly more importantly when bringing into our squad right now, thinks he is the right character. We need hard working players with good attitudes so if Rafa feels his best chance of introducing some of that is with players he's worked with before then go for it I say.
Aside from him coming across as a total football boffin, moshiri commented on the extraordinary catalogue of info Rafa has on thousands of players so it'd be somewhat of a surprise if he "has no clue about any other players apart from the ones he has previously managed. "!

Sometimes it's about character. It's a responsible pro he can trust to mentor and push younger lads. Not exciting but remember we all moaned when idrissa was bought.
