For me Arteta would be one brought so much on the pitch, desire class energy only disappointment was seeing him go and for what I viewed a low fee!
Nigel Martyn was another, initially I thought what are we doing buying a keeping on his last legs, I was proved wrong, felt our keepers had been fairly mediocre since Southall, all these keepers who were deemed the next big thing Gerard Wright and Simonsen all England U21 who just seemed to fall short but Martyn bucked that trend for me and gave some good service at the end of his career
I know some will disagree but that’s my opinion.

I read the question as who I thought was a great signing when it happened, and if I'm honest Lukaku was the one.

If we are talking in hindsight, can only be Coleman.

I think the most shock and excitement I had from a signing was when we bought Kancelskis from United when they didn’t want to sell him. What a player he was.
