True Woburn but that horse had already bolted.
{Ed025's Note - thats what we got for playing attacking expansive football.. :)

Evening Ed. Do you think Dyche underestimated Luton then? I can’t imagine many teams where he’d adopt that tactic.
{Ed025's Note - i think he, or maybe the players did Swinners, before they played us they were woeful and were being touted as the automatic relegation favourites, we slipped up big time and looked very loose at the back mate, there are no easy games in this league..

Seriously wtf is this about expansive football. Not going to give a lecture on battle logistics but the same applies in sport. F all to do with expansive and everything to do with pressure, keep em on back foot. City are a good side with excellent players but still 11 v 11 and they work a bloomin lot harder than us. Tyson was spot on.

Cheers Ed. There certainly aren’t any easy games and hopefully we learn from it and don’t make the same mistake again. (Just a shame an experienced manager and experienced players made it in the first place) .
{Ed025's Note - Sean is still learning about his players Swinners, and i think they are still learning about him..

Ed25, there appears to be a total misunderstanding surrounding playing expansive football.
The reason we lost against Luton was a weak defence and spurning umpteen clear cut chances which should have seen us clear winners. Fulham was a similar game and outcome.
The defence has been substantially strengthened by the introduction of Jarrod Branthwaite, whose assured performances have, as a consequence, improved Tarkowski’s who no longer is concerned, about the reliability of his fellow centre back.
The team displayed compact and positive performances against Brentford, Villa and West Ham decent teams and all away, which is why it is incomprehensible why we adopted very different regressive negative tactics at home to Brighton.
The tactics employed in the three away matches was not tiki taki football but the style of play that will see us finish comfortably in high mid table, whereas the tactics displayed against Brighton will see us looking over our shoulders at the results of the teams below us.
{Ed025's Note - i can see where you are coming from Fancy but i feel the wins at Brentford and Villa were similar tactics to how we played against Brighton, yes we were at home but a counter attacking policy seems to work for us mate, its not great to watch all the time i admit but i think teams who have better ball retention dictate that rather than us..

Ever the optimist and no I don't live in Guernsey, I am telling myself that the Luton match was a catalyst moment for SD and the squad we have.
