If true, will give him 100% support, but bills asurances about taking on board the views of supporters, is yet another one of his porkies. Cannot tell you just how much I want to see the back of that man. No disrespect to Martinez, but bill has taken all this time to make sure he has secured another yes man to tell the world what a great chairman we have.

The general concensus of opinion is that we now have a 3 horse race between Martinez, Rangnick and Pereira. Probably in that order of preference.
I think that Pereira may have used Everton as a bargaining tool in relation to his contract talks with Porto.
I have serious concerns about Rangnick. There are the obvious health concerns. After all, the EPL is not only the toughest league for players, it is also the toughest league to manage in, with a huge increase in pressure to survive due to the dire financial consequences associated with failure. This linked to the fact that he has a tendancy to jump ship ( he has had more clubs than Jack Nicklaus! ) He has been in his current position for a little under a year, so it would appear that loyalty is not a strong point. I really do have my doubts. So that leaves us with Martinez, who is still my number one choice. He does have his doubters, but I feel that he could well flourish at our club with our better quality of player, and better defenders who function as a unit, with an in-bred will to win ( or with DM at least not get beat ), and a never say die attitude. Whoever we get, I think Bill deserves credit for the thorough and dignified way he has conducted his search. He is a credit to our club.

Totally agree Shropshire. BK will never get praise despite his efforts. Martinez will take us on and inject a much needed pace within our side and an engine in midfield.

The manager plot thickens! The German guy has denied talks with everton! Even tv got that one wrong then! Or they were spot on but Ralph is playing coy! I'm looking forward to tomorrow! Nervously excited! I think Martinez will get it and Stubbs will be his number 2! I would be happy with that! Martinez will get us playing attractive football, also get jelavic firing again, stop everybody coming back to defend corners ( really hated seeing that) and blood in some of the talented youth we got, Stubbs will sort the defensive side out and we will be pushing for a European place again!
Siefc1979
Believable6
Unbelievable5
First of all, he will get shut of Jelavic, he likes a Physical number 9 with pace who will stay on his feet. Secondly, he also puts everyone back in the box to defend corners, having said that, so does everybody else. Been a while since you saw a game?
Agree0
Disagree0
Indeed! the plot! it thickens! yay! exclamation marks! but yeah, I agree about the corners thing and hope that [if it is him] Martinez can sort that out and get us looking to start counters
Agree0
Disagree0
Why can't people see that Martinez plays good atacking relegation football, he turned Wigan, an average mid table side when he took over into regular relagation battlers which he finally succeeded in doing within 3 years and who says he will appoint Stubs number 2? He will more than likely bring in his own team like nearly all new managers do in fact only 1 man has said he will keep our back room staff and train him to be a future manager so I really hope he gets the job

What is it with the Moyes haters? He turned our club round in the 11 years with us. We were in or around the bottom 3 for years until Moyes. Yes he is slow bringing youth through but for a good reason. Look how Michael Owen burnt out and suffered recurring injuries. Rodwell too has had his fair share. When he tried to slowly introduce Rooney, he slowed that down too and even Rooney is starting to look a bit knackered these days. Remember these footballers are top top athletes and to throw a kid into the first team full time will effect his longevity. That is why Moyes is careful with kids.

Good point very well made about whiteside
Agree0

The boozing culture at that time amongst the ManUtd senior payers clearly couldn't have helped the younger players - that's one thing that SAF put a stop to.
Agree0
Disagree0
I think it is harsh to label people "Moyes haters" for saying he was reluctant to play youth.
I was a fan of Moyes, but I acknowledge that he has his favourites, and it hampers youngsters trying to get into the side. You only have to look at the young player of the season award. It went to Ross Barkley, who had only started something like 3 games this season! (and that was due to injuries to other players).
He doesn't trust youngsters, it is clear to see. I accepted it because Moyes was doing a terrific job, but now he is gone, I hope we get a manager who utilises the youth we have at our disposal
Agree0
Disagree0
I agree that Moyes should be loved for what he has done for us, but it's clear that he has no idea what he's doing when it comes to developing youth. The point about him favoring Neville and Naismith to Barkley and Vellios is a perfect example. There's slowly introducing someone and then there is just not giving them a chance, which is what he's done for years.
Agree0
Disagree0
Just because moyes has done well for dosnt mean he's adverse to criticism, he was a great manager but he was prone to doing some strange tactics and subs at times.
Agree0
Disagree0
He wasnt brave enough to go at teams in the big games hence why his away record against the top teams in atrocious!
