I 2002 Everton FC provided David Moyes with the platform to expand his budding managerial career and establish his reputation. Eleven seasons later he has landed the biggest job in English football. Whatever your opinion of Bill Kenwright you've got to admit he stuck by his man. Moyes would never have lasted 11 years at another club. When Everton finished 17th in 2004 and scored only 45 goals all season he would have been sacked by most club chairmen including some Everton has had in the past. I can certainly think of one who would have invited him to share a London taxi. Sacked by Everton after two seasons. It could have all been different Mr Moyes. You may never have got another chance in the Premiership. So next time you feel inclined to be disrespectful to your former employer, please reflect upon the distinct possibility that you probably wouldn't be the Manchester United manager today if it hadn't been for the opportunity and support provided by Everton FC.
1.) Well said Roscoe,
to add insult it appears that the Rat has been quoted as saying Everton are holding back the careers of LB & MF by not letting them join Utd, ( Gaurdian )
