How about Rubén Castro as an extra striker for next season from Real Betis?
The guy knows where the net is and he's has good attacking movement.
It will also come cheap because Betis (unfortunately) are bottom in the Spanish league and they have good players in their squad (they qualified for Europa League last season) but couldn't compete in three competitions and they'll be relegated.
So I'd go for Rubén Castro who's a proven goalscorer and would help the team in some matches for example against some teams in the group stages in the EL or some league matches; so the main striker could rest for the real tests in the league and in europe.
What do you think?

He is also very very, very very! Old, I dunno mate, he could do a job for a season, betis have some decent players like that lad who was running at us in pre season, can't remember his name but he looked alright, not saying we should get him off one game just saying they have some decent players

20 million in the summer, do we agree? think it will be a little more personally

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - im expecting more liam..

I think that the figure is likely to be double that personally. Say we have £50m to spend, I'd much rather we spend £15m on 3 squad players, perhaps £5m each and then make 3 marquee signings with the rest.

Agree0 Disagree0

50mil if we get 4th because that seems rather out there, plus 35mil isn't going to get you 3 marquee signings prob not even 2

What the hell is this obsession Newcastle have got with all things Everton its becoming embarrassing now. If its not some geordie person on twitter or some forum raving in about Newcastle being bigger than us its that total no mark Pardew promising they will finish above us next season. Now I've just read an article by that intolerable humpty dumpty kopite second rate ex lower league striker mick I ate all the pies Quinn stating how Newcastle should finish above us every season because they are a far bigger club than us! Since when exactly? Last time I looked we'd won 9 league titles 5 f a cups and a European trophy. In my lifetime (since 1974) Newcastle have been nothing but a yoyo club barring about 8 years in the 90's. Nothing short of deluded the lot of them.

Fatboy still at it ay, not only did he say they are a bigger club, but their first 11 is better, well apart from remy not a single player from their club would get in our team, typical newcastle fans, silly, makes it even funnier the fact he is a kopite too, everything about our club is better than newcastle from the manager down to the youth, think big jugs needs to stop it, he's making himself look, well, stupid, and that's being generous

Agree0 Disagree0

Sheeds, don't be harsh on Quinny. He played for Coventry, supports Liverpool and has got a face like a bulldog licking vinegar off a nettle. Give the man a break, not a lot there to be happy about. :)

NewCACKle are now were near as big as us, now or in the past, to say they should finish above us next season is laughable. remind me how many times have you managed that is the past decade. 2 times maybe the last being when they had that one off season when pardrew claimed they were in a diff league to us they got played off the park by us like we do everytime we play them!
muppets

Agree0 Disagree0

I've seen this on their site as well. Bigger club than Everton? Just have to look at their trophy cabinet to dispel that one. Their biggest gripe is obviously the owner who continues to amass ridiculous money from deluded people who still continue to buy shoddy sports ware from his 2nd rate shop.
The only thing going for them is an excellent stadium and an unwavering support. But remember they're a one city club like Leeds, so there's no immediate rivalry within the city other than Sunderland, 10 miles or so away in another city.
But if you look on their site, they are clearly envious of us at present and the way in which Everton have prospered this season under RM. Pardew is in Ashley's pocket for the next 5 seasons with nothing to excite their supporters in terms of playing style. OK so they might finish above UTD this season, but is that anything to shout about when you you look at how s***e Moyes has taken MUFC downwards tis season?

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted on their page a couple of days back when they were saying they were a bigger club than EFC. when I pointed out what we'd won compared to that lot they weren't having it. "traditionally" Newcastle are a bigger club was their response!. couldn't be bothered with them after that. clearly deluded

Agree0 Disagree0

ALAN PARDEW. that's everything you need to know about newcastle.

Agree0 Disagree0

Daveyboy, I'm not sure if it's you or the Newcastle fans who don't like mike ashley. But I have to say he is the only thing that is successful connected to that club. And his sports chain in the fourth largest in the world, not what I would call second rate. Add to that fact that he wiped out their debt with his own money. He deserves a lot more credit than his fans would give him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Simple; Joe Kinnear

Agree0 Disagree0

So Toffee let's get this right. You're saying that Mike Ashley is the only thing that is 'right' for NUFC. That' pathetic. The man's a joke; a fat Spurs supporting cockney who is fleecing the Geordies. Payday loan company sponsorship, changing the name of their ground, Joe Kinnear brought as Director of Football. Need I go on?
If Uncle Bill chose to sell up, I take it you'd be happy for him to buy us then? I certainly wouldn't although the chippies around Goodison might disagree!

Agree0 Disagree0

Davey. He doesn't support spurs he supports Chelsea . I know this for a fact because he told me. I know him as an individual and clearly you don't. If he hadn't have bought that club then they would have gone to the wall. This is not opinion it's fact. Yours is opinion and your entitled to it. But the facts remain.

I will agree with you about not having him as an owner. I'd prefer Bill all day long.

But just because I already like our chairman, it doesn't mean I have to dislike another

Agree0 Disagree0

Toffee thanks for your response. I respect your posts and you speak a lot of sense unlike some on this site. I am prepared to accept that you know Ashley but I also know a couple of NUFC fans really well who both say that despite he's paid off the debts after the previous regime, he has no interest in taking the club any further. They also say that he tried to buy Tottenham before Levy did so that again dispels your theory of him being a Chelsea fan, but I'm open to debate.
What I do know is that he has dragged Newcastle though the mire and has upset their fans who are desperate to see the back of him and Pardew.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough Daveyboy, thanks for your respectful response. Now let's go batter Fulham

Dont know whether this is serious but over to you Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree sunny.

Nobody does it better
Makes me feel sad for the rest
Nobody does it half as good as you
Moysie, you're the best

And nobody does it better
Though sometimes I wish someone could
Nobody does it quite the way you do
Why'd you have to be so good?

And nobody does it better
Makes me feel sad for the rest
Nobody does it half as good as you
Moysie, Moysie, moysie, you're the best

Moysie, you're the best
Moysie, you're the best
Moysie, you're the best

Agree0 Disagree0

Well me personally i'm hoping he gets a dogs life that's what he deserves. He owes us not us owe him don't forget he was at little old Preston until we gave him his big break an then he told us all he is going to sign a new contract then jumped ship to the mancs then started to pull our team apart and is still trying to pull our team apart now so I hope he gets hell

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahhh Mike, I can just picture the great Carley Simon singing your version of this classic. Makes my legs go a bit jelly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on chaps he done more right than wrong which is why he got the Manchester United job. If he was as bad as people on here are making out no way would he have got that job.

Paper talk on ssn app is reporting that if we get European football we will have up to 20 million to spend if this is TRUE then this is crap and the board then have no respect for Roberto and they should be treating him much better than that he needs 20 million for lukaku or a top quality strker and another 20 million to strengthen in other places

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Shakey totally agree. If we get 4th we'll need at least 40 million to strengthen the squad. If not it will all have been for nothing this season.

Hey Ed, any links with Adam Lallana? Maybe unrealistic but would love to see him in an Everton shirt! After all, he is a blue.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - as much as I would like him Kane, it's not happening mate, forget about the evertonian link, these guys like Rooney, lallana, holtby etc only move where the big bucks are, and as we know it's not at goodison..

But maybe Lallana's different from the rest. An Evertonian who would relish CL football if we could offer him that rather than sit on the bench for more money elsewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he is their captain, and flavour of the month in terms of prem players davey, which adds up to costing a bloody fortune mate, i would not hold your breath on that one..

The guy has increased his stock currently and is happy to play for the club he stayed with even in the lower leagues, Southampton would want over 20mil maybe even towards 30 with him having age on his side
