I would hate to see felli go but if he went for the right price we coulde get odjidja holtby and donovan and still have money over for a striker. Deficiancies have been exposed in some positions in the last few games felli going for the right price coulde make us stronger and less vunerable to injuries and suspensions with a big push for the top 4. coyb thgfest

I think it was a clever bit of marketing by the club Doc, especially given the time of year. The club shops advertise with the logo 'wear what the players wear'. I'd expect them to be in the club shops very soon mate.

any news on big felli ed? {Ed025's Note - touch and go mate, but even if he is not 100%..i still think he will figure at some stage..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Please please please moyes dont play neville, anichebe and coleman in the derby, if they start on sunday am just going to go home and not bother with the game because we will defo get beat with them in the team. {Ed025's Note - sometimes injuries and suspensions dictate what team we can field, even though they may not be first choices, we should get behind anyone who pulls the shirt on!..

Agree0 Disagree0

On another Everton only site () they have Felli odds on, hibbo 2/1 and gibbo the outsider to play (in the derby) at 50s. Make of that what you will

Have to admit I'm a little worried if Coleman is playing, Sterling will have him on toast. He'll either get sent off or give away a pen or two

Lewis Holtby has publicly reaffirmed his love for Everton ahead of the CL the with Arsenal; unfortunately he has also stated his admiration for Arsenal. I'm not trying to say we'll sign him but you never know.
Moody Blue

Believable3 Unbelievable0

The lad is a young, talented footballer. You would imagine, given he is playing CL footy with Schalke, that will be a major part of his decision.

So if we can pull it off and finish in the CL places, think he will definitely sign for us. Which would be brilliant news for the club.

My team vs Liverpool

Howard

Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines

Neville, Osman

Anichebe, Fellaini, Mirallas

Jelavic

. If Moyesy gets Anichebe fired up he could be dangerous. Need to have players who understand the derby playing. Naismith has been a ghost since a decent preseason.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

No, not Neville in midfield, please.

Is fella fit for the derby ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellaini should be fit for the derby. There were some rumours before the QPR game that he could've perhaps featured in that game, but was not risked due to the injury, as well as, he already has 4 yellows, another against QPR would have meant he would be suspended for the derby.

Will be a big boost for us, showed on Sunday how important he is to this side.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would play Oviedo instead of Anichebe

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd play me ma in place of Anichebe.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would play Heitinga instead of Distin for this one. Distin is usually solid as a rock week in week out but I don't know what it is about derby's, he seems to get turned inside out by Suarez every time he plays against him. Heitinga for me and no anichebe please he's another one who can't influence a game for the full 90 minutes, nevermind against the sh*te. He should stay sub he seems to influence games better coming off the bench.

Dont think I would describe Distan as rock solid, quality most of the time but got a touch of the Yobos about him

Naismith Osman Heitinga Mirallas

Fellaini
Jelavic

I just really can't see Moyes leaving Neville out. Shocking really, he is a back up right back. Should never be in midfield

Hate to be negative and criticize are skipper but it's becoming a problem now having Neville in midfield! He simply is not good enough for the holding role. Anyone else notice the difference in performance from Pienaar and Osman since Neville has been there!?
I don't know if anyone else does this when watching the game but when I watch our games I always have a look at player's off the ball and the work Gibson does is brilliant, Baines goes forward and links with Pienaar, Gibson covers near the left side of defense, same thing if the attack is on the right.
He gives the centre halfs a option to give him the ball he turns and plays a forward pass and it's (9 times out of 10) the correct pass.
The first few games of the season Osman, Pienaar where brilliant pulling the strings in and around Fellaini and Jelavic and Gibson sat and covered all of them allowing them to play without being concerned of getting dis-possessed and chasing back.
Since Neville has been there we have been so open getting caught on the break. (Newcastle, Wigan and QPR) and Osman is actually doing more defensive work than attacking work because Neville has not got the energy to cover everyone like Gibson does.
Feel horrible saying it because he represents us brilliantly and is a great captain and person, but for me, Neville THIS season turns 36, he is cover for Hibbert at right back. That's it. He has no business in our midfield if we are serious about winning silverware this season and challenging the top 4.
Probably doesn't make sense that post but I hope you get the jist of it!!!

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Neville has played there all season so I don't get ur point. Osman played on the right when Gibson was fit. It amazes me how short term footy supporters memories, he was excellent against Man U, and he is only cover and only playin there cos felli has been doin so well up front

Agree0 Disagree0

Who ever wrote this post is 100% spot on. Phil Neville on the weekend was terrible and really all it takes is one player not pulling his weight and it effects the whole team. Osman needs muscle around him like Fellaini and/or Gibson to perform. This then would make life so much easier for Jelavic, Mirallas, Pienaar etc. This is why it is critical that we get Vadis Ofoe in January. Without Gibson and Fellaini we are rudderless. Everton are like a car Fellaini is the key, Baines is the Engine, Pienaar is the Clutch, Jagielka is the Brakes, Jelavic is the accelarator, Mirallas is the wheels and Anichebe and Neville are the Mud Guards.

Aussie Toffee.

Agree0 Disagree0

I guantee you if neville is in the midfield sunday we will get beat, the only position the lad should play is right-back, neville as been great for Everton over the years but he is no midfielder.

Agree0 Disagree0

Love it Aussie Toffee! ha ha ha ha ha!

Blue bones

Agree0 Disagree0

Great analogy that Aussie, agree with you entirely there. We can't be carrying these mud guards and expect to put in good performances week in week out

Agree0 Disagree0

Just been looking back at our results this season we only won games against man utd & Southampton with Neville in midfield all the rest he has either played rb or we have dropped points. Don't like to point the finger at individuals just because we didn't win its not possible win every game and it was not only Neville that under performed but feel Neville has a influence on team as a leader so if he does others do. But with Gibson out we don't have much options in midfield Barkley is not ready yet and would need to play behind jelavic not in cm if he would have played against QPR we would not have held on with a point. (In my opinion). If we play Heitinga in midfield we would be having the same type of comments saying he is not a midfielder. Junior also not ready as we seen v Leeds so who should play when Gibson and fellaini are out I think we just need to persevere until January and hope those two dont get any more injuries or suspensions.
Robbie

Agree0 Disagree0

That makes Howard the hand-brake? Phil Nev was, once upon a time, our steering wheel but I think that steering wheel has had its day and needs replacing or he will gradually start to lose the respect he so richly deserves. He's been a great ambassador and servant to our club but enough is enough. We, as fans, can see he's past it, or the majority anyway. I don't get how Moyes and the coaching staff can't see it. He's not in the team on merit but purely on sentiment, in my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

Phil Neville is a great professional, will give 100% every game, a natural leader and wants to win. Unfortunately when he is playing centre midfield his passing in particular lets him down. No longer good enough to be playing central midfield in the premiership. Is there any chance Gibbo will be back for the weekend?

Alastair

Agree0 Disagree0

To the 2nd poster, I know Neville has played in midfield most of the season but at the start it was with Gibson so Gibson kind of carried Neville, now Gibson is out Neville is trying to do Gibson job but can't do it therefore the likes of Pienaar and Osman who were in great form at the start are more concerned about what's happening behind them rather than playing there natural game. That was my point.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets get Hitzelspergewr fit..... The lad will do a job!

You cant play neville and osman as a pair in the middle.neville is not a CM & Osman is too inconsistent.Simple
