Perreira no thank you got to be Jorge Jesus for me forced to sell best players and brought through youngsters and still progressed and got them to the EL final.

I don't trust a bloke who can't speak a word of English with our club.

Forget Martinez. Forget Laudrup. Forget Klinsmann. Forget any manager coming in the next 3 weeks. Neville will be confirmed as manager when he returns from holiday.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not going to happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree, Phil Neville will be our next manager. I for one, back him and prefer him to the bandwagon foreigners everyone is going on about whose names they hadn't even heard of before the job became available. {Ed025's Note - we need someone with experience, i like nev, but not at this time..

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with ed its a tough one just want the club to show ambition and make a statement. Neville as much as I like the man doesn't show that for me anyway COYB

Strange how klinsmann is now following everton official on twitter. He only follows spurs and arsenal out of other prem clubs. Linker had wry smile on Motd when others speculated about new manager. He has worked with chris woods and tim Howard. Tim Howard said the other day he is excited about our new manager. Hmmm could be something or nothing but he was backed into 2nd fave tonight.

Rumours coming out of Goodison that money will be available for the new manager. Prize money this season for finishing 6th was 11. 3 Million and TV money Everton receive from this season alone was 5. 8 Million. With the advance on TV Money becoming available to all clubs this season plus the money already made this season Everton should be allocated most of this. (16. 1Million from this season) plus the advance on new TV money. This is without the inevitable sale of Fellaini who is valued at 27 million. This summer could be vital providing the chairman chooses the right man to take over from David Moyes.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree mate, seems like a different name each day. Trouble is, not one of the names appeals to me. So whatever the board do, I think there will be resistance

Agree0 Disagree0

Well let's face it, getting a new manager is just part of the puzzle, it's then giving him the resources he needs to do the job. (Wavertree Blue) {Ed025's Note - very true wavo..

Everton Rumours Fantasy League
--------------------------------

Yeah so the seasons over, so I'm posting the results of the first Everton Rumours Fantasy League, and I'll definitely set up the league again for next season.

Anyway onto the results. I finished a dismal 40th after getting only 14 points in the last week. But here's the top 5:

5) Blue Sky-Big Bald Blue-2144 pts
4) Aches and Baines-Tim McEwan-2221 pts
3) St Jomstone-David James-2239 pts
2) Singh is King-Gurvinder Sidhu-2246 pts
1) Grand Old Team-Paul Maloney-2246 pts

1st and 2nd were tied on points, I just positioned them as they were on the Fantasy League site.

So congratulations to the winners of the 2012-2013 Everton Rumours Fantasy League, Gurvinder Sidhu of Singh is King and Paul Maloney of Grand Old Team.

I know some will shoot me down here but I think as Moyes is contracted to us until 30th June, working with Utd just a day afther the final game is incredibly bad taste. BlueTone

More than likely he's been put on gardening leave. I can't see the problem really he is going so there is probably no real work for him to do anyway. Would you want to have DM walking round the office when your trying to interview potential managers? Its not like they can pass him off as just another employee of the club. SA90

The probable replacement will come from within. No need for paying huge compensation packages and an incentive linked contract to the new manager.

David Weir/Phil Neville for me. Although not my first choice it does save money and those savings buy us a player! The majority of back room staff remain in place and the team ethic continues!

I'm trying to be positive. I'm more worried than excited. Even so, the season ticket is purchased for next campaign.

whats the point in saving money for new players if we can't attract decent players because we've got a novice manager and a board showing no ambition, that's why I think we need a proven manager to help take us on to hopefully another level, as much as I love big dunc or stubbsy I just worry its not the right time for them at this moment, were a top 6 team with some great players we should be able to attract a good manager.

It's the time of the month for a rant.

GET OFF NAISMITHS BACK!

Are you the same "Fans" that where on Colemans back?

Are you the same "Fans" that where on Anichebe's back?

Naismith's going to be a GREAT player for us, he just needs a chance and regular football (Am I the only one that can see this. ?)

Obviously!

Sometimes I cringe coming on here due to the negativity. It's sooooo disheartening that our "Fans" feel this way about our team players.

You all shout for HIBBO to score. WHY?

It's not his job. You'd rather Hibbo scored than Everton win a game? C'mon!

For the few games Naismith has played he's helped "The team"

Any points (please be sensible, not just "Sh*t player, etc. ) would be appreciated!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Doc, I get stick all of the time by the lads but I really like the kid. I think he's got something different. I think he's been played out of position and people wonder why he hasn't done well. I say play him just behind the striker and he'd really do a job for us. he needs time fellas, that's all.

My concern was never the player but the fact we have better alternatives - Barkley Vellios Oviedo etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

Naismith is Naismith. He's the worst I've seen in a blue shirt and I've watched the Blues since early 80s. Zero talent, nada, zilch.
Vic is a championship striker, touch of a baby elephant, runs like he's pulling an industrial refrigerator, turns like Bambi on ice and has the positional awareness of a deranged chimpanzee and turns into Vicky Pollard when things don't go his way.
Coleman is the most improved player this season, come on leaps and bounds and will be a top right back for years to come.
You can't impose your views on everyone who doesn't agree with you. Naismith will NOT be great, Vic is useless and Coleman will be some player.
That being said I'll still support the guys when the play for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Vic is not prem class baby drogba my arse, coleman has been my best player on value since we stole him 60k, naismith well we see

I don't think any in house novice manager could be trusted with efc in these modern days with millions of pounds in transfer fees and players don't want to come or stay with novice managers, we already have to attract players without our lack of of european qualification. so come on bill whoever you pick make sure he's got lots of experience and keep the great stubbs for his number 2. tp.

All this I would not have Rooney back rubbish even if we lost felleni and got Rooney I would be happy Rooney is world class and I have no doubt he would score at least 20 prem goals and its those goals that have cost is time and time again we don't score enough goals and that is the missing thing Rooney would put us into top 4 easy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed!. Why turn down a world class player. If anything the fee helped us push on as a club.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would carry him back if he would come, but can't see it mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because you like him doesn't mean everyone does. Rooney's star has been on the wane for some time now (no pun intended). He probably would still score lots of goals for us, but it wouldn't be easy to crack the top four, especially as they will all strengthen their squads over the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney has lost his edge, he's won everything, has enough money. he would be an asset to anyone. everton are the club, he owes the fans, the street fighter in him would return,. he plays for utd but he doesn't love them. everton would make a statement of intent and please don't go on about wages. the commercial side of everton would explode, he's a cash cow who is globally known, he's the only player who had ferguson over , he made utd millions, that's why hence he got that contract. its a no brainier both commercially and on the field.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just look at the table it's so easy to see why we did not get champions league look at Manchester United have 2nd worst defence out of top 8 clubs funny how no one has mentioned that cause they won the league goals scored won them the league simple as that our statistics don't lie we have a pretty good defence think the 3rd best in league yet goals scored is the reason we did not turn those draws into wins and take Gareth bale out the equasition where would spurs of finished probably not even top 8

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be disappointed if we don't look further than inhouse staff for the new manager. Moyse took us on no doubt and what he brought was a great work ethic as a boss and an eye for a player which developed after some of the poor early buys. Nigel Martyn was a stroke of genius and cost nothing. Fellaini will bring in big bucks. Mirallas could become a great blue. I would like to see Neville in as number 2 because, though I never rated him as a player, he has that dedication, a studious eye, and won't accept poor attitude. He could then be groomed for the future. if Moyse does not take him to Utd. Weir I imagine will also be a future candidate. but not yet. just don't see Stubbs of Ferguson being the real deal. But let's look to be imaginative and not throw out all foreign coaches from the equation. Whoever it is, we are still in the waiting zone. is there or is there not a real prospect of a buyer who can inject funds to build the squad. "ongoing interest. yawn, yawn". please don't tell us anything Bill unless there is something in place. We began this season with so much hope. we need a busy summer on all fronts to push on to top five potential.

Just thinking, with Fellaini looking to go to United with Moyes and clear out of Heitinga and Gueye, totals I reckon will be £37. 500. 000! Chelsea are looking to offload Torres for £20. 000. 000, he's scored 23 goals in all competitions this season, which is more than anichebe and Jelavic put together, I would like to see a deal materialise as he's a top player, and even though he was a kopite, he learnt and left in my eyes he's forgiven

We'd be fortunate to get £3m for Heitinga and £1m for Gueye which would make it £28m at most (with Fellaini likely to go for £23/24m). Re Torres-is this some kind of joke? He's not worth £2m and is just as bad as Jelavic.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would imagine that Moyes and Everton would of agreed a deal to pay off the rest of his contract now

Absolutely no point in keeping him at the club until his contract runs out.

Agree0 Disagree0

How is it the past? It's the present, he's still collecting wages from EFC to work at Man Utd. He should have been given the boot as soon as the news he was off to Manchester United was announced. Some people just go around with their heads in the sand. It is disrespectful and rude what he's doing, but BK has no balls.

Agree0 Disagree0

David can do what he likes when you have won as much as he has.

Agree0 Disagree0

Degsy, I have let it go I'm looking forward to a attacking minded manager, like I said I'm not bothered but why is he at another club when we still pay. That's all I'm saying

Agree0 Disagree0

BK DOES have balls. unfortunately for us they have been in the hand of a ginger manager for 11 years and laterly the mouth of a fading utd reject. our club is becoming a laughing stock
new manager NOW PLEASE but I suspect we won't see one installed until it's too late to make any significant signings
This whole charade was orchestrated months ago and yet again we the paying fans are the ones to suffer
don't expect a good welcome back moyse. btw that was me saying his name and not the man himself talking in the third person syndrome which he had now inherited
good riddance

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe it`s his day off, simple.

When I have a day off I can go and visit friends who work for competitors, although i`m not being employed by them in the imminent future.

Is it disrupting the day-to-day running of Everton. I doubt it.

season review- manager

moyes has got us playing better style of football this season, that I have to give him. he has also done well steadying us and progrssing us to a top 6 team in his 11 years (albeit with no trophies, no away wins vs liverpool, united, arsenal and chelsea, and few wins vs top teams anywhere). this season, he has very reluctant in blooding youngsters such as barkley and duffy and I beleve this will have a negative impact on their and our future. he has been to reliant on the old guard of osman and neville and to a lesser degree distin (although his season has been relatively good and consistent. just at 36 he should be moving on allowing duffy more game time). he also sticks with players like naismith for whatever reason. Moyes has remained unable to make a positive sub and waits until 70mins or until the opposition has made all 3 changes. also seems to think that playing well but losing is ok (like yesterday). I for one thank him for 11 years but feel that as long as we get the right man in (which I have my doubts) we will progress more than we would have if he had stayed. Maybe even win a trophy now

1878barlow

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He has not stuck with naismith. hardly played him. distin is still better than duffy even at 36. We do however need a new class centre half. agree about barkley. why he has not been playing is beyond belief. for me we need a new centre half, full back, another midfielder at least with a good engine and 2 new forwards.

Agree0 Disagree0

He stuck with naismith at the beginning of the season, has left him on the bench at least all season at the expense of barkley sometimes, kennedy etc.

1878barlow

Agree0 Disagree0

Naismith is an anagram for I-s***-Man

Agree0 Disagree0

It is quite obvious why Moyes was hesitant with Barkley. He has a youngsters decision making process. Tends to give the ball away in key areas trying to dribble past opponents when it is not on. I love seeing him come on, and agree he can't learn without game time but I can see why Moyes hasn't exactly thrown him in more regularly just because of his raw talent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barkley would have matured playing more regularly. have u not stopped to think that maybe the reason barkley tried so much was because he knew he only had 10mintues to impress and had to show everything he could offer? whereas if moyes had said i'll give you a run of games he could have showed them at the right times and in the right part of the pitch. just my opinion

season review- strikers
Naismith- really poor, doesn't seem to have much quality if any. but in fairness played out of position and first season since bad injuries. still not convinced though

Vellios- not given a chance yet again by moyes!

anichebe- did ok and was relaively injury free. does well from 20yards with his back to goal, however clueless in the box and never gets in goalscoring positions.

jelavic- really disappointed with him this season. thought we had a goal machine. been working the channels too much and when he's had chances he's scuffed most of them. would still like to see him up front with a quicker striker next season and given another chance.

season review- midfield
Mirillas- good debut season after struggling with inuries. keep this lad fit and could have a star player

Osman- started well, faded after xmas. good player but lost pace that he never had. good player for the bench maybe

Fellaini- good season, good goals, shows his quality when he plays deeper. would like to keep but would cash in on him before baines

Pienaar- started well with baines, seemed to have 2/3 good games followed by 2/3 invisible games. finished season well I think

Gibson- struggled with his injury but I think when fit he will be important with his passing range

Barkley- Not given a chance by moyes, which I think will hinder him. Hopefully next season he'll get his chance as he looked promising vs arsenal

Hitz- not really played. won't be renewing.

my evaluation of the season: defence
howard- ok in the main but has cost us quite a few points and made many mistaes (villa away, norwich home and away, chelsea away to name but a few). time to look for a new gk if money left in the summer

Mucha- given a rare chance. did well when he came in and unlucky to be given the boot as soon as howard returned. won't re-new contract

coleman- revelation of the season in my opinion. has matured as a rb

jagielka- took a while to get going but since xmas has been my personal player of season

distin- same as jags took, took a while to get going but has been solid since xmas

baines- player of the season (although not been his usual self last 6-8 games I. M. O

Heitinga- well below last seasons performances. needs to be offloaded in summer

Nevile- good pro but this season has proved one to many

Hibbert- unlucky with injuries. would still keep

Oviedo- not given a proper chance, played more in midfield

Bury the myth of us being over achievers, yesterday's game typical of season, on top make negative change, lose game. We had the players, didn't have the manager. Only a few names I think will actually make us move forward and these are:

Vitor Pereirav

Rafa

Laudrup

Lets face it though BK will go for the cheapest option which will be the likes of:

Weir

Ferguson

Neville

Rafa has said he is interested and sounds coming from Portugal seems to think a deal is sorted but these interviews worry me unless its just for the number 2 roll.

Not sure why the club are asking advise from Moyes as we need to move on and not take a step back.

ok so nearly everyone under the sun is going to be our new manager. I think we may need a bigger dugout! one extra seat for our other new manager Winnie Park! set to be named along with everyone else on may 30th! where is kenwright getting all this money from? or is every new manager going to be on £1 a week?

David moyes & Bill kenwright have turned one of the worlds. great football clubs into an also ran. They have spun it that well, that we now see it as a wonderful season if we finish 5th 6th or 7th, not to long ago that kind of performance, was considered grounds for dismisal. Well we have thankfully seen off one of these conmen, now if we could only get shut of the second we may have a chance to return our club to it's former glory.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Kenwright has turned are club into all so Rans,. he has made everton ambitions one of a club who should be happy to finish 6th. he talks about moyes legacy and how we, ll continue that legacy, he forgets the rest of our history and more importantly the standards we should always aspire to. moyes has left because kenwright never realised the chance to progress. bill has never come out and with the burning ambition of making us a top four side both on off the pitch failing on every level of progress. we have a good side and that's down to moyes,. u watch next manager appointed from within to a person who is not ready to save a few quid. kenwright should look at Daniel levy attitude towards the top four clubs. spurs are refusing to be pushed about anymore ie modric and chelsea last season. are problems are simply are board completely inept.

I agree, I mean how can that david moyes allow these clubs with massive resources and billionaire owners to keep finishing ahead of us?

Well said! Bring back the days of Peter Johnson, Mike Walker and Walter Smith.

You know what I REALLY miss? Securing a place in the top flight with just 15 minutes of the season remaining. Ah, those were the days.

To the first poster and all the others alike. the last two posters are spot. the Johnson era was as painful as I remember. with managers like walker. come on get a grip. Bk is full of hot Air and bs at times but he has indeed done more than the last guy. I just wish we could find investment soon or that the so called board would invest some of the mountains a cash they have in their own accounts. jlaff

Before moyes are team was awful we plated some of the worst football in are history, we had no right even being top half when he came so to consistanly finish near the top against teams that spend stupid amounts of money isn't bad, although I do think this year we missed a trick not signing amidfielder and a striker in jan

To the OP. You really want to stop smoking that stuff, it's obviously destroyed your memory.

I've got a feeling Neville is going to get the job
He hasn't played for a while so maybe he has been following moyes all season ready to take over. And I honestly think he would be a good option along with Steve round they both no the ins and outs of the club and there would be no transition period what moyes has built just needs a few tweaks and we will be challenging for top 5 next season.

Wake up, we need a proper manager, not a bloody Moyes clone. Only had to be at yesterday's game to see how many times we have thrown games away through negativity. When your on top you bury them. You don't sit back and play for a draw.

still want pereira but I am 80% certain its going to be martinez. i'll give him a chance and I think he will do good, just I don't want us to be the team that take a gamble on him if I am honest. think we will have more of an idea this week, or so I am hoping. although I did hear rumours of laudrup's agent at stamford bridge?! also good old moyes true to himself to the very end (making negative subs and subs that have ultimately cost us at least the draw we deserved). oh well roll on next summer. COYB!

The poll on TW should give a clearer picture as to who Everton fans really want. I urge everyone to go there and vote so that they can present it to EFC and BK. The vote polled over 10,000 just last week. Hopefully the new one will get more.

Baines was poor today oscar destroyed him sprinting past him doing skills and passes knocking the ball infront and chasing it and beating baines to it everytime but other than that I felt everyone else including naismith played well although victor is now becoming very predictable and jelavic couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat thanks for evrything though david moyes you will be missed
