Ed025, I know it's not the most reliable source, but, if the reports in the Mail are true about the way Ossie and Hibbo have been treated by the club, I'm both surprised and angry. These lads have been 2 of our most loyal servants over the years &. whilst I agree that we can't give every former player a backroom job, a bit of decency about informing them and at least giving them a chance to say goodbye to the fans is the very least we could do for 2 of our own. I really hope that someone will come on here and reveal that this was just crappy journalism and that we have actually done things the "Everton way".

Their contracts were coming to an end on 30th June, so - especially given their age, their injury record over the past couple of years, and their resulting lack of availability and appearances - it can hardly have been a surprise that they weren't giiven renewed contracts. However, they should, iin all decency, have been informed personally by the club before the retained/ released lists were published. As it stands, the report in the press is just gossip.

Who says they weren't personally told? I am sure there would've been conversations before now by the various players agents.

It's this constant reporting of our club always in the negative that gets my back up.
Both players and agents knew their time at Everton was up, Osman is known to be keen on the media and hibbo has his fish.

Its absolute rubbish,
was talking to one of the head stewards yesterday and all off the players had a goodbye meal and all 3 of them said goodbye to the staff at finch. they knew months ago. typical national press!

They should of given the fans a chance to give a goodbye to them then, all three of them great servants to the club.
