G'day everyone I'm at the socceroos v South Africa game in a corporate box courtesy of the FFA and just heard a rumour that I couldn't wait to pass on even though I don't know what to make of it but apparently two Ukranian teams may be getting removed from the champions league for whatever reason with the vacant spots going to 5th in the premier league and the Spanish league. Have any of the eds or anyone else heard anything about this?

{Ed025's Note - revs informed us of this before syd, but i would not get your hopes up too high just yet mate..

So obviously the rumour is getting around quite a bit. Must be something in it if the people I am with we're talking about it as they are quite well informed. But regardless of whatever happens we are still Everton and we are generally not that lucky haha

{Ed002's Note - This is absolute nonsense. If two Ukrainian sides are removed, two Ukrainian sides replace them. If Chelsea were removed, do you think Everton would replace them or the third placed Ukrainian side?}

Garbage. Twitter in overdrive - rippling around the EFC forums right now

It won't happen not as long as I have a hole in my .

Ed what's this in relation to I haven't heard anything about this.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing, it is nonsense.}

Bit too good to be true, I expect.

5.) 26 May 2014
Apparently the same story is now being reported on Spanish TV.

{Ed025's Note - i believe they will be replaced by 2 other ukranian teams martin..

Ed 002 your right this is utter nonsense, but hypothetically if 2 Ukraine teams were banned because of the crisis in Ukraine I doubt that they'd b replaced by another 2 Ukrainian teams.

7.) 26 May 2014
It may be ukranian teams in general. And England and Spain teams may be put in due to fair play or the points system.may be a load of tripe like.

I've been asking around to try to figure out what it's all about and I am not 100% convinced myself so please don't shoot the messenger but there are apparently a few factors behind it. Firstly it looks as though a multitude of other teams are trying to follow Donetsk's lead in attempting to tear away from the Ukrainian premier league one of which is the 2nd champions league qualified team if this happens they will not be counted as Ukrainian allocated teams. Secondly because of the problems in the Ukraine Uefa are concerned about the safety of traveling supporters if games where to be played there. Another issue is the hardship and injustice that would be dealt to fans of Ukrainian teams who would have to travel to support their teams if all games were to be played outside the Ukraine. Maybe they just see it as an easier option to cut them out altogether. Why English and Spanish as a replacement? I have no idea! It would make more sense to have say another French and Italian team as they only have 3 allocations to begin with.
