Benitez has been sacked after agreeing to part ways with the club tonight! Compensation package being agreed as we speak, official announcement by club no later than Monday. Duncan Ferguson to take over in the interim, probably to the end of season whilst plans are put in place searching for next gaffer! Bilic has already out his name forward for the job apparently. but early front runners are Rooney, Fonseca, Martinez and Potter. not sure Rooney is ready yet but an interesting thought. Martinez might be ok with a good DOF. for me it would be a straight choice between Moyes, Potter or Dyche. at least that way we would have a team with commitment, identity and mayb some success finally with a little money to spend ?.

Rooney doing very good job at Derby but again would all fans take him? Big Dunc showed the passion needed to succeed but do we have him full time without any experience? Dyche is a solid manager but a bit like Allerdyce I think. Moyes won't come, nuno is a no for me, Potter will prob stay at Brighton. Just put Dunc in charge. Let him gee them up and try get a tune out of them. Never left his dugout with Rafa in charge. Needs to holler from sidelines. Can't see who we could realistically get.

thats great news but if dunc does ok give him 1 year rolling contract at least there will be no slackers, promote baines to his management team and let dunc sort others for backroom staff, need to sort U23's and academy, unsy can go and bring someone in who is good at coaching youngsters.

Moyes won't return, Potter a draw special-ist, Dyche hard man but we would end up where we are or abouts. Dunc till end of season, unless we bring in Martinez and accept it may be to late to stop the drop.

That'll be Howe getting sacked shortly then and Rafa back in charge at Newcastle.

Reluctantly I'd give dunc til the end of the season to see if those 3 games before carlo were more than a honeymoon period.

We can then reassess in summer.
