When Everton won the league in'85 our first 2 games were Spurs, and yes you've guessed it West Brom. Just sayin' couldn't happen again. could it? 🤔.

Dplanno. No is the short answer. Some very good Clubs in the Prem, they will not stand still while we improve. Better remaining patient, take whatever comes this season and next will be very interesting.

We'd just won the cup against Watford with a young side, people were saying we were on the verge of something big the next season, how right they were! First game following season Spurs at home we parade the cup, crowds buzzing, everyone's optimistic and typical Everton we get beat 4-1.

I think we had a lucky win against Spurs and we beat a 10 man WBA (even though they managed to pull back to 2-2 after the red card) . I don’t believe we are anywhere near as good as pundits have suggested and until the CB position is sorted with a quality pairing, we will be a mid table side.

Lucky in the sense Spurs were poor and led by Mourinho; not that they outplayed us.
