It doesn't help the manager to plan when players say they might stay for another season. Richarlison, Calvert Lewin, Holgate, Kean are maybe the players he wants to build a team around. When one in that mix comments he might go, then how does this help him in long term plan.

Regarding leadership on the pitch, I was a supporter of Coleman being made captain but has been a disappointment. It only highlights the mistake the club made by shipping out Jagielka, when his leadership and experience would have been valuable for another season without a similar replacement. As they did selling Lukaku without replacement.

I can understand bringing in an older player who may play for one or two season on the cheap and spend limited money on key areas. Unfortunately on the displays recently all positions are key areas to look at.
Why is it when Duncan Ferguson was interim coach before Carlos appointment, he had the team grinding out results and since then they can't. Players or coaching or both.

I don't blame him to an extent, Keenone, this season has been a total shambles and finishing in bottom half of table is unacceptable considering the cash that's been thrown around by the board since FM bought in. Richarlison is our star player and he will want to be pushing for Europe or pushing the top 6 at the very least. I suppose we can look at it from a few different angles. Was he just simply trying to cajole the board into strengthening a weak squad? Was the conversation lost in translation? Or does he actually mean the words attributed to him? It will all come out in the wash in the end!
With regards to how they played for Dunc when he was briefly in charge, I think a lot of teams up their game once a manager is sacked. Whether that's a subconscious thing where their personal pride (eventually) kicks in so they seem to play better or if it's simply to impress whoever might be next in charge, I don't know but it tends to happen. Big summer is coming up for the board, Brands and Carlo to sort out the mess we are in!

Let's not go down that sad Lukaku road again. Balling out players over out of context quotes. He was talking Portuguese and I'd like to see the entire interview. Not some Google translate nonsense.
Frankly the players that come, keep heads down and say yes sir no sir take the money are NOT the players we want. We want hungry, angry ambitious players who want to get to the very top.
If the lad does go next summer, he goes because we as a club failed to match our own and his ambition.

He has is own goals in life and wants to win things, he is currently playing for a bottom half table side his mentality is what’s lacking in our other players.

To blue potatoe, toffeapple and true blue, I agree with all your reply and comments and not trying to put the blame anywhere. Frustrations year after year. Considering the money the players are on, if they can up their game for a new manager they should up it for every game.
