Quote from fathead earlier " How as a manager can you guarantee anyone to play? If they don't play well you can't select them and if they do play well they stay in the team. That's the simple fact of the matter. It is up to them to put their game together on a consistent basis. "
Well how come that has not applied to Martina, Morgan, or Williams earlier in the season . The man is full of sh** . Sooner he is gone the better .

I'll tell you why mcginley because he opens his mouth before he's engaged his brain.

I think that he means if there is an alternative player in better form. Unfortunately in the case of Martina, Morgan and Williams, the alternative players were either injured, not playing well themselves or suspended. There could be an argument that Morgan should have been dropped many times. I would have done so. But it appears the guy is back in form now. In Williams' case, he just seems to have lost the plot. but so had Keane earlier in the season and although Jags is now back in. does my memory servr well that he was injured for a while? As for Martina, he was a quite terrible signing by Koeman. When we lost Baines and Coleman, we struggled with getting 2 decent fullbacks on the pitch. I would hardly blame Allardyce for that. don't get me wrong, I believe that he should go now. but to blame hime for everything from the black death to scurvey, is just daft. His football has been dire, but we were 3rd from bottom when he arrived. We needed guaranteed safety. He helped get it. Thanks. Now let's move on.

I think he has brainwashed you Degsy as you like him don't seem to remember the 4-0 win over West ham, the one that put us 13th. That was actually Unsworths last game in charge. It is embarrassing for Unsworth for him to not even acknowledge that. Unsworth came in and helped when we needed him and anyone who doesn't acknowledge that result as his needs to have a long hard think about their allegiances.

I haven't seen him taking credit for the spanking we got at Southampton funnily enough.

As for our fullbacks his presser today? He has said he needs 3 quality signings, a CB, Goalscorer and a midfielder so don't plan on a replacement/ cover for Bainesey just yet, he might make do with Martina.

As for Morgan i'm not sure what form Vlasic or Klassen were in as they never got a game under him, he was too hell bent on playing 2 or 3 defensive mids regardless of whether they were in form or not.
It's no coincidence Morgan is playing well, he probably wants out like Rooney does.

And to finish, Sam had 50 million at his disposal in January, if the squad is as bad as he makes out, why didn't he bring in 5 or 6 players and get rid of the ones he thinks can't cut it.

Hey calm down Smit666. Read my post again slowly and take deep breaths. All I am saying is the hatred towards the guy runs so deep now that I agree he has to go. but let's get things into perspective. Yes blame him for poor decision making. Yes blame him for saying stupid things. And yes blame him for accepting "bungs". But all I was saying is that when he says,
"How as a manager can you guarantee anyone to play? If they don't play well you can't select them and if they do play well they stay in the team. ". then I agree with his comment on this occasion. and tried to explain that sometimes things are not so straight forward. You had asked why that statement did not apply to the 3 players you mentioned. and I tried to explain that Baines, Coleman and I also think Jags were injured. which maybe why Williams and Martina were playing. Not because Allardyce thinks they are/ were better players. As for Shneids. I already said most of us would have dropped him. But maybe he was good in training? Maybe Allardyce was wrong? Maybe a lot of things. but I don't think Allardyce was saying anything that does not apply to football. ie if a player is playing well and there is no other player playing better in that position. then you pick him. I can assure you I have not been "brainwashed". but I can also assure you that my hatred of Sam Allardyce is not as deep as some fans. Like I said. was he responsible for all of the things that are wrong within our club? According to many people you would think so!

While I hate to say it, would getting spanked in our last match help Sam on his way?

I do actually agree with what he said. No one should be guaranteed playing time. What annoys me is his refusal to admit we were 13th not 17th when he took charge. And anyone else who takes that win away from a guy who is everton through and through will be put straight.
Which was the point I was making.

Well that point I agree with 100% Smit666 mate. I have to say who knows what would have happened if Unsworth had been given the job or indeed Koeman not sacked? Whilst we all would pick different teams and formations, I honestly believe the reason our season started off so badly was purely because of a couple of terrible transfer windows. To allow your top 2 scorers to leave and not replace them adequately is criminal. To know that your best 3 defenders have been with the club for over 10 years and are nearing the end. yet have no suitable immediate replacements is criminal. I know people say Kenny and Holgate are ones for the future. I know we spent near on £30mill on Williams and another £30mill on Keane. but Williams is also too old and Keane is so far not the player we expected. So in my view, Unsworth, Koeman or Allardyce would have struggled early this season and any of them would have improved as the season went on. All I can add is that Walcott and Tosun (or similar) should have been signed BEFORE we allowed Lukaku to leave and Barkley to run his contract down. That is poor management from before Allardyce. But I don't want him to stay. because I agree the football is dire and most fans are only behind him when they have got pitchforks in their hands!

Agree Degsy. The question is, was it Koeman or Walsh or both or the owners that made those glaring errors. Will we ever know.
Who would be your preferred choice for manager?

Well until Allardyce has actually gone, I will suffer him. thereafter I would actually give Arteta a go. Yes he is unproven. But he is very educated and speaks about 6 languages I understand. A trained legal buff I believe. So no fool. And of course has worked with Pep who wants "total" football. But whoever we get I just hope it is someone who can bring the fans together. I have never known such a split in our support. I have also never known such an imbalanced, poor squad. We need many new players and our ageing players are our best players so I see a difficult next 2 seasons.

Degsy you’re exactly right.

Smit666 is like a broken record. He repeats the same stuff over and over again. He recycles this verbal diarrhea on a weekly basis.

If you go back through JDEJones replies/ comments to me Degsy, you will see he has an axe to grind. Lots of posters repeat on here because the subject matter has been the same for the last 6 months. I don't see any replies/ comments to any of them.

JDEJones rather than simply disagreeing or not commenting to me makes his replies personal and has done on the last 2 or 3 posts. Rather than being topical he prefers to troll.
