It's a consortium not just the one guy. It could all just be smoke and mirrors to make us feel happy over Christmas then it falls through in January.

As mentioned it's not just one guy it's a consortium and their combined wealth. What is not clear to me is if it's a takeover or merely an investment as there is quite a difference in the two.
Either would be a welcome boost just makes me wary as they have 6 weeks exclusivity which by my calculation takes us through until the end of the transfer window!

Shakey that comment is beyond ridiculous! Most fans have been calling for the board to step down because they don't have enough cash to throw around yet someone 'only' worth 490m is not enough! Crazy.

Ed002 - little harsh that comment. I Think we all want what's best for Everton and new investment is going to push us on but we also need to be careful as lots of clubs have got investment from people with around ' '490 mil' for example and they have failed. Think villa, the first yanks at Liverpool, short at Sunderland, etc.
We do need a new stadium and financial security and I for one will be happy if we had money to invest in the team without going into debt. as I said before just have to wait now.

{Ed002's Note - Quite frankly with the posts I have been seeing they investors would be best of forgetting Everton and the toxic fans they have and look to a club where the investment would be appreciated. If I was them and reading all of this nonsense from the fans, I would walk away - not worth the grief. And in a way I hope that they do - I do' know if it is a city based thing or a north of England based thing, but it is hard to see anything positive in this at all for the prospective owners.}
