Oil it has nothing to do with that. A buy out clause is a fee that needs to be paid by the player to buy out of his contract. In remys instance he would need to pay 8m. If Everton were to give him the money to pay it, it would be counted as taxable income so would need to be closer to 10m. But if Everton did give him the money they would be charged with tapping up as QPR did not not give the club permission to speak to him.
If its a release clause which is different then they are not legally binding and only have to inform the player of interest
