Ed02 seems to have a good insight into how different clubs are run. Especially regarding Director of football.
What is your opinion ed002 on Walsh as director of Football? Is it a role that’s not suited to him or is the infrastructure around him wrong? Have the owners stuck their nose in to many times? Or is down to management not listening to him? What is the best way forward for our club?

You start to feel everything is done on the back of those before, ie Walsh ‘s success at Leicester and now Allardyce saying his tactics were based on Swansea’s result!
It’s time the clubs directors started to form the clubs original identity rather than trying to ride on the backs of others success!

Robbie, look at past comments. But simply put many of us (old farts) have been there and done that. I have (had according to my kids) particular skills and experience in those skills that have served me well so generally stuck to that band. What seems to have happened with Mr Walsh (obviously I am in no position to know) is that either Mr Walsh, his agent or more realistically the Club in their haste to appoint his scouting skills have employed him way above his skill set. We now see the utter mess caused.

Im still confused as to what walsh's role is. I remember when we signed him one of the eds, can't remember which one said it was a good idea getting a dof. But what exactly is it he does.

{Ed0333's Note - I’m sure he was head of scouting when he arrived and got some sort of promotion. All looks a little convoluted if you ask me. Sorry if I’m being a little cynical we dropped 3 points from the jaws of victory

no he was appointed dof when he joined he was head of scouting at Leicester, he should be demoted to that same job here.
