I agree with a lot of what people are saying on here and I disagree with certain comments. I would like to point out that Keane seems to have slipped through major criticsism and Williams gets loads. I am not saying Williams is good, I actually think he is way past it. but Keane has been dreadful in every game I have watched. Now if you have a back 5 and 4 of them are poor. ie Martina, Williams, Keane and Mangala. then you are going to get stuffed. I thought our 2nd half was a million times better than the forst and mainly because we went from back 5 to back 4 and took Keane off and put Davies on. It looks bad I know. but it is still a little better than when Koeman was here and we are showing signs of improvement. although not first half yesterday. I did think it was bad of Sam to blame the players. there is no excuse for that. He picked a back 5 and at least now knows that our players are not capable of such a selection.

{Ed001's Note - now that I agree with you on, Keane has been awful. Consistently awful.}

I agree that Keane has been awful but I think that you are being a little harsh on him. Koeman dropped him after 1 or 2 bad games and criticised him publicly and knocked his confidence. Then he was in and out of an unsettled and poorly performing team, with no support either side of him (Martina at RB and Williams) or in front of him (Schneiderlin) . He then had an injury and was out for a bit. I personally think he played well against Leicester on Wednesday. Also remember that he is relatively young for a centre back. Give him a chance.

Also slightly harsh on Mangala as it's his first game with his new team, with only 1 training session. Although I will concede that based on previous evidence you may be right about him. He looked like the French Titus Bramble at City.

Agree that Keane has been awful, but then so have most of our signings since Walsh came in. This is a man that found Kante and Mahrez for virtually peanuts, but since joining us we’ve paid more than £20m each for Klaasen and Keane plus brought in Mangala who has always been dreadful, Sandro who runs around like a jack russell but with no end product and Martina. We’ve also lost one of the country’s most exciting young players on loan because he got fed up of being overlooked. Sig will want to go next.

In short it isn’t just Keane, the blame has to lie squarely with Walsh for the money he’s wasted and Allardyce for the talent and optimism he’s wasted.
