I don't get all this criticism of Howard. The defence in front of him are making stupid mistakes, mainly due to Martinez insisting we play from the back, yet neither the defence or Martinez seem to take any grief.

Don't think he is a replacement for Stones. From what I have read he is a left sided centre half so could be a long term replacement for Jags once age starts catching up with him.

More than likely he is just a centre half we desperately needed as cover and competition.

If we would have brought in a centre half for a few mil there would of been uproar we haven't shown ambition and bring in crap. We spend a decent amount and its must be because Stones will be sold. Club can't win!

Let's just be happy we have signed someone

Kenwright and Martinez took a lot of stick lately, the majority of it justified. However, they have stood firm over the Stones situation first saying he's not for sale and then by saying even if he hands in transfer request he's not for sale. Yet still they get stick over it.

Why can't we force him to stay, he's under a lengthy contract with us. Maybe it's about time clubs start standing up to players (more so their agents) by saying you have a legal binding contract with us and we don't want to sell you. Clubs need to take some of the power back at the end of the day their paying the wages not the agent.

This isn't a go at Stones as we don't know his stance on the matter and he has carried on in a professional manner for us, unlike others in the past.

I really hope we keep hold of him to one as he's a great player and future player and two because it's about time clubs stand firm against the so called bigger clubs (I call them richer not bigger) and stop them cherry picking the youngest we develop and give a chance on the big stage.
