Fulham are the club that are in talks with Forren not everton.

Believable15 Unbelievable11

With no disrespect to fulham, if we have made an offer, what is going on in the heads of the people advising this promising young man, everton- fulham it's a no contest. {Ed021's Note - I agree

Agree0 Disagree0

Have we actually made an offer though?

Agree0 Disagree0

Its the Hangeland connection out of respect, then maybe he will come and talk to us and sign

fulham have bid for forren

Believable17 Unbelievable12

We are going for Hangerland

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep a website reported it. Would have liked him at EFC due to his age, European experience and potential. Disappointing!

Agree0 Disagree0

More disappointing. If we get Hangeland, you have a ready made PL CB with clear physical attributes on set pieces and long balls that we are getting killed on at the moment

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who saw Hangeland play at west brom the other day would say no thanks. He's getting on as well. I'd rather go a different direction

Agree0 Disagree0

Who knows, maybe we are in for him as well and he's just doing them the courtesy of talking to them. Doesn't necessarily mean he'll sign for them though Hangeland may sway his decision, and the fact it's in London. Time will tell

Agree0 Disagree0

Kenwright fault again

I think we should be looking for a goalkeeper for the future as I'm not as confident as I have been in previous seasons when the ball gets played into the box he seems to neither go nor stay. I think butland could be a good keeper for the next 10-15 years. Or slightly more short term Vorm or I wouldn't mind Krul either. What does everyone think?
BlueClarkey

Believable16 Unbelievable9

Who ever we get needs to be able to push Howard as he has had it to easy last couple of years, I would brake the bank for butland

Agree0 Disagree0

We should of kept ruddy

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as I'd like a new keeper, I think there are more pressing concerns that need to be addressed, such as CM and a striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon moyes has a budget of no more than 6mill which would mean blowing the lot on butland which is a no no.
therefore why not take craig Gordon at least on a short term deal until end of season and see how he shapes up.

ste willow

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we really could do with another keeper .howard just doesn't fill me with confidence my hearts in my mouth everytime the ball comes into the area.at best hes only an average keeper and at times a half decent shot stopper.A top class keeper can make the difference between winning not loosing games. and winning trophies. jimmy

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see your point but Howard has been great for us and we need to support him through this slight blit, however competition is healthy for our squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2013 21:53:13
I must say I totally disagree Howard has been immense for us and still is we must strengthen in different areas He may have made the odd mistake but who hasn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

How much do you think Krul or Vorm would cost.....its more likely to be Gordon on a free

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love Butland but there's quite alot of competition an no funds available to buy him

Agree0 Disagree0

Tim Howard is a world class keeper. The Newcastle goal was down to poor judgement of the flight of the ball by our defenders. The only reason we would find a new keeper is for the future once Tim has showed him the trade.

Agree0 Disagree0

Howard is good enough for now, mucha has never had a chance so we dont know, ruddy was the same and look how he turned out.. get craig gordon in on temp contract and play him once or twice so howard feels the need.. get hietinga out of the back four and that will help - jags and lescott ideally - distin and duffy to challenge..

Agree0 Disagree0

Bring back southall and just wedge him inbetween the posts

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on Clarkey... Personally think Howard is garbage.. Scared of crosses, starting position is very poor. What's with this standing behind the goal line at set pieces! He's not even a good shot stopper!
Might be controversial but I'm just saying how I feel.

Holtby very close to joining Spurs! VERY DISSAPOINTING! Cannot believe we let this one go, REDICULOUS!

Believable15 Unbelievable15

Try and look at this dispassionately - Spurs can offer more money; Spurs are much better placed for long term strengthening of their squad (advanced stadium talks, Billionaire Chairman heading a very wealthy board, London base which, though we might not like it, can sway international players) and whilst both teams want Champions League, Spurs currently look a far safer bet.

If (and it is still quite a big 'if') Holtby does choose Spurs it will of course be disappointing but I don't think we can look at in terms of "let(ting) this one go" as we never had hold of him in the first place.

I'm not always our board's biggest fan but it's unrealistic for us as fans to think we somehow have a divine right to certain players. {Ed051's Note - I agree it's more the case he supports Everton I think mate

Agree0 Disagree0

What do you mean cannot believe we let this one go? signing someone isnt as easy as just saying.. i want you to come here. we all assume because he is from around here and his dad is an evertonian that he will sign for us. he has never once said this although he has admitted to liking us. i may be wrong and welcome any links to a quote from him saying how much he loves everton.

Agree0 Disagree0

So was Jamie Carragher, Robbie Fowler, Steve Macmanaman and Stevie G lah all Evertonians from birth and played for someone else.

Peter Reid, Kevin Sheedy, Alan Harper and David Johnson all played for Everton and supported Liverpool.

So who you support means jack rubbish really!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think ossie and baines supported Liverpool to

Agree0 Disagree0

Owen, McManaman, Gerrard where Everton fans, means nothing. If Spurs can outbid Liverpool on player wages then we have no chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

You say spurs are in a better place? REALY? And if we let players which we can sign slip then we will never push for champions league, that is what i mean by letting him slip!

Agree0 Disagree0

I didnt mention that he supported us so... also i said nothing about him being from Liverpool, what i meant was he has been linked with us before, he going to be a free transfer , so thought we could be in a strong posistion plus with the quality we have! So.. OH and by the way I THINK WE ARE BIGGER AND BETTER THAN SPURS, IM BEING REALISTIC! Think u best go and put a white shirt on

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2013 13:42:45
It only seems to be people on this site that think we were ever in for him. Case of wishfull thinking to the point they'd convinced themselves.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no such thing as a "free transfer" the transfer fee now goes to the player not the club. We can't compte with the clubs with he big backers

Agree0 Disagree0

So who would you rather he signed for if not us Liverpool?

Agree0 Disagree0

I've only seen him play once and he didn't strike me as the kind of player that MUST be signed. Besides, I've heard that he'll be going to Bayern Munich...

I don't have any sources or know anybody in the know but I believe Heitinga is the only player that can possibly be sold in January. DM will have a few targets for several positions if they can be done in my opinion as follows.

CB Forren, Lescott
MC Milner, Ofoe, Fletcher
ST Hoarau, Bent

either signing 2 and loan 1
or sign 1 and loan 2. But all depends on timings of these deals when JH goes because we going to have other clubs sticking noses in like Newcastle will be looking for a striker now.

I think we will wait until summer to get other GK

Forren and vadis ofoe to sign in next few days

Believable23 Unbelievable12

Forren apparently very close to a move according to Ole Gunner. Having a medical with unnamed club. Us and Utd been only teams linked with him. Be good signing for EFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope you're right lid.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's been linked with Fulham as well because he's an international team mate of Hangeland

Agree0 Disagree0

Forren looks back on boys. Must be selling someone!
