Looks like Honda has agreed a deal with AC Milan on a 4 year deal worth �2.5 million a year. Not decided if he will join now or in January.

I see a lot of people are put off by Kone being 30 this year. Becoming 30 doesn't make you a bad player over night. Do you think Manchester United were bothered that RVP was 29 when they paid £24 million for him? Will he become a bad player where turns 30 next month? No. Exactly.
1.) Yes, but United don't have to worry about spending £5m, where as we do. We have very little money, with a very overage squad. You do the maths.
2.) Are you seriously comparing Van Persie and Kone?

Rumours regarding Wayne Rooney making a return are a best extremely hopeful. If you think about it Everton probably wouldn't to be able to offer more than 75k a week which would mean him taking £150k weekly wage drop just to join us. I can't see that happening. {Ed025's Note - nor me dixie..
1.) Yeh, big drop, but if he wants to go on he will take a massive drop in wages as nobody will match his current contract. I think he should go abroad for three years and then return home to us for his swansong.

Can't understand when u say can't afford his wages,. he's one of the most marketable players in the most watched league with big money comin from all corners of the world. utd had to giv him that contract because of the money he made them. it's called marketing he would bring easily an extra ten million a year to everton.
3.) I don't think our board have ever heard of the word marketing
4.) We could afford 150k a week for him if we wanted. There are ways these deals can happen with assistance from several parties: directors, sponsors, reserves, borrowing against future income etc. Unfortunately we won't take that chance. I think any evertonian who holds a grudge against him as a person and footballer would quiet down if he joined and had a decent first few games. P
