Morning blues and Ed025. Red in peace. My dads a big blue, so I keep a watchful eye and genuinely wish them well if the result doesn't affect the reds. Looking at your current situation I can understand the frustration. I watch Liverpool as a fan, so have an educated opinion on each of our players, still an opinion though as we all see different things. I don't have that real level of knowledge with Everton players, so my question would be, which Everton players are the ones to keep as the foundations to build on? Which players, in an ideal world, would you build a team around?
As a 'non fan', I see Gordon as hit and miss, and Coady and Tark as solid but limited. I like Godfrey, and thought Onana had something about him. Personally I don't rate Pickford. Who are the ones to keep?
Best of luck today and for the rest of the season. Easy for me to say, but I really think you'll be fine and will avoid the drop.

{Ed025's Note - hi Dave. I believe our defence is pretty solid and the keeper is not a problem. Our problems are a lack of creativity and the absence of forwards who can put the ball in the net mate. I wish I was as confident as you that we won’t go down as imo it will be a really hard slog..

Dave if I had my way I wouldn’t keep any of our players . There is no1 you could build a team around in our current squad they are all rubbish. years gone past you had Ferguson, Cahill, Arteta, Lukaku players you or your kids could look up to and put their name on your shirt. Could you imagine now having Gordon or Iwobie on your shirt. Be less embarrassing walking round Liverpool one naked than having them on your shirt. Our players are a joke it’s very embarrassing my brother is a red so I feel your dads pain as my brother has been laughing at me for 25 years something has to change. Unfortunately we need to sign 20 players and that’s impossible. I don’t know where the club goes from here.

Would have to agree with ED . Just hope Lampard has done his homework and brings in somebody that can score goals as well as someone that can spot a pass. If we don't get this we are doomed i'm afraid to say!

{Ed025's Note - we really need a couple of wins on the trot Grantham to instil a bit of confidence mate. But that’s unlikely to happen today mate ..

Our defence is pretty solid says Ed025, Sutton says 5-0 (wipe the floor with us) , we don't have the same skill set, so be resillient we need fitness/ stamina and speed! The problem is, they have that as well. I worry, not for this game but games to come and I don't see FL as the man to lift them. I would love a win or draw against them and in the process seeing them earn their wages.

Have to agree with Ed025. Defense is solid. They say the table doesn't lie. According to it we have joint 6th best defense in the Premiership.

Blues, a red in peace.
First off, it was a pen in my opinion. If it was the other way around I would have been kicking off if it wasn't given.
Despite the stats about pass completion and possession, I think Everton were a threat and value for at least a point for the first hour. Last half hour we stepped it up against a few tired legs. The reality is the derby was never going to be the must win game for you. You weren't expected to pick up points at our place this year. Now the games are crucial and I think you have enough to drag yourselves out of it. For all the banter over the last 50 years (for me) , I really don't want you lot to go down. It would be rubbish for everyone in the city, not just the blue half.
Of course, I will always be a red and hope we batter you next time we play, but I will genuinely have an eye on every Everton game for the rest of the season. and wishing for bad results for Leeds and Burnley! Chin up blues, hopefully you'll be celebrating next month and looking forward to next season.

Reds fan here. Like to pop over to your site every now and then to read the banter. I've noticed a lot of you want your team to lose against City. and there's a lot of debate about it too. As a true Liverpool fan I wanted to say that I actually understand both arguaments. I'm from a background where footy is everything, and I am guilty of being over passionate most Saturdays. My point though is that true Liverpool fans want to win the league on merit, not on favours from other teams. City are well capable of wiping the floor with you. and us for that matter, but Everton on their day can beat anyone in the EPL. that's why this season has been so good. I just hope Everton v City is a good game and the best team on the day wins. Same with the EPL, hope the best team over the 38 games comes out on top. Personally I reckon Everton will have a go, but get beat. Then all the Liverpool fans will kick off claiming you threw it lol. Footy's great isn't it?! Good luck with the rest of the season. don't reckon you'll catch Arsenal, but it would be nice for us both to be in the Champions League!

Morning blue noses. Liverpool fan here over from our site. Just want to wish you lot the best of luck today in the cup. My old fella is a big Everton fan, so I hope he's a happy chap later on. Should be a good game.

Liverpool fan here. Putting the rivalry aside, genuinely feel sorry for Oviedo, he was having a great season for you lot. Here's hoping he gets back on the pitch soon. Best of luck toffees for the rest of the season. Obviously want the reds to finish above Everton, but always nice to see us both doing Ok :-)
