I know it is been a week on after deadline day but it was so nice to sit there watch it and not fearing for our top players leaving not had that feeling for long time and even if we don't make champions league I feel future is good and we now match the big boys not just hoping to take a point of them but attacking them

Hi Eds and fellow blues. Just food for thought really and looking for points of view.

For us to match the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Mancs, Spurs and reds we will need a significant investor to do so. (Talking about financial investment)

If Everton are worth £150 million according to BK. Considering, the fact we need to invest in Goodison or a new stadium and along with the player investment and associated salaries we are talking a serious wedge of cash.

How best do you see us moving forward and do you think we will attract sugar daddy/sugar mummy to help us compete in attracting the worlds best players and taking Everton global?

I don't want a sugar daddy, I don't want someone to come in, bring in foreign players and have no one english, sack managers if they don't win every game, change the ckubs kits, colour and badge, i'd rather we stayed as we are, of course I want us up there with city etc, of course id, love to have all the top players joining us and of course I want us winning things, is it worth the risk though? I don't think so, what makes this club special is its family feel and the feel we are doing well without the hundreds of millions liverpool and spurs have spent, and we still keep up and go above them a lot of the time, I don't want to lose what makes us great just to take a risk on some foreign sugar daddy who will likely destroy what we stand for just so he can make a profit on us, goodison is old, yes, its not a small, rundown league 1 stadium though, we have good players and a good manager without being filthy rich, the only way to progress is with great signings and keeping our best players, we may not get top four this year, but all we need is one season were things go our way and we reach it, it could happen very soon, and when it does, it will feel better knowing we earnt it, rather than knowing we bought it

Having seen other clubs go boom and bust I am with u.
We are the peoples club. I just hope that our investment in youth will pay off and with Roberto at the helm I hope he teaches them the skills necessary to be great. Too many youngsters don't win prem league contracts so let's hope our worth the investment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not for the first time, I cannot agree with Mike Ox-Long and a couple of these posts. Sorry mates. The way I see it (in my humble opinion) is that if you stay still in football you go backwards.because other clubs are going forwards. Whilst I agree that our club is special and we do have the family atmosphere, some English players and some foreign players, so do teams like Chelsea and Man City. Ok I accept we have a few English players more than these, but that can change overnight whoever the owner is. More to the point, we are miles away from the type of finances of Man City, Chelsea etc. We also have a lovely traditional stadium that seems to look older by the minute when compared to other modern stadia. Right now we are over achieving. That is to say, we have survived by buying young players in or developing them through youth policies, then selling them on for vast profit. This money has been really well re-invested in other players brought in to replace the ones we sold. We have spent very little compared to what we have recieved in transfer monies coming in. and at the same time strengthened our squad continuously. That is something that is destined to eventually fail. We cannot continually buy cheap and sell expensively and at the same time strengthen the squad. We have been lucky to get away with it so far. I don't like the term sugar Daddy, but I would love an investment in our club that exceeds what Blue Bill can put in. It would allow possibly a new ground, but more importantly. new players. The Champions League places are becoming over subscribed in the fact that the Premier League used to have a top 4 as it was known. It now has at least a top 6 or possibly top 7. all of whom (except us) will finance their clubs with vast sums hoping to get in and stay in the Champions League. If we do not try and do this with regular investment that exceeds our outgoings, we will get left behind. It is inevitable. I for one want to see us challenging to win the Premier League. I want to see us win the Champions League one day. I used to dream like this as a kid. We did something very special in the mid eightees that was taken away from us by the Heysel disaster. Without vast investment we will never again achieve this.

I agree with deggsy were standing still and other clubs are spending large amounts in every window that's not to say rb isn't doing a great job because he is. I don't really care if its a person from over seas who buys the club that's something i'm willing to sacrifice as a blues fan if it means success for our club I think if we don't get sold this year we mite fall away from the pack I have nothing against bk but he or the other money men don't have enough money to invest but if they did then i'm not even sure they would invest it. Does anyone even no if there is any interested parties looking to buy us. No disrespect to fullam but if a tiny club like that can be sold then why can't a major club like Everton be sold is it because bill won't let go

Agree0 Disagree0

Please don't get me wrong I don't want to stand still but the question I suppose I was posing from the outset is that even though we are giving a product on the pitch and have potential, for 20 + years we have not really had any substantial investment, in fact I think with all the ins and outs for the past decade I think we are actually in the black with our spending.
There is clearly a reason for not attracting the right type of buyer for the club and in someones if bill is being choosy then I will continue to give him the benefit.

My team for Tottenham:
Howard
Hibbert Jags Distin Baines
McCarthy Barry
Mcgeady Peinaar
Mirralas
Naismith
And maybe intro Coleman if he his ready to come back.
And The Barca Kids back aswell if i'm correct.

Three points is vital and a result for Arsenal as well. COYB!

{Ed025's Note - for me QB, it would be..coleman for hibbo, and del boy for mc gready mate..

Got to have mcgeady or doofy loofy over pienaar, pienaar can be an impact sub, not a starter anymore imo

Agree0 Disagree0

What about Barkley? If Gerry, Coleman and Traore are fit my team would be:

Howard
Coleman, Jagielka, Distin, Baines
Barry, McCarthy
Deulofeu, Barkley, Mirallas
Naismith

If Naisy, Kev or Gerry aren't doing the business, we have options with Traore, Pienaar and McGeady.

Ed Just thinking of money! The recepits for the EPL is based on the EPL Domestic TV Rights + Facility Fees + Merit Payments + Overseas TV Rights = Total. In this increased bumper year, the EPL winner is expected to nett just over GBP100M! In 2011/12 the 5th placed team received GBP54.235M. So, on this basis, EFC would likely receive GBP89.5M. Funnily enough coming 4th, valauble for the CL receipts, only brings an addition GBP3M on top for finishing 5th. Exciting times on top of the UMBRO deal. COYB! Love Ya

{Ed002's Note - The UK broadcast monies, they are divided (1) 50% equally between clubs, (2) 25% for those clubs hosting live matches, (3) 25% based on performance (league position). The international broadcast monies are divided (3) 100% equally between the clubs.

The final figures won't be known until May but it will be circa £70M-75M for fifth.}
