Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.
11 Jun 2013 22:51:17
So we sold another asset today. 40 years of rent.
Goodson park will follow, sometime in the next few years.
This stinks of cooking the books.
Why are we all kidding ourselves, this board and chairman are only filling their own bank accounts.
JM must be rolling in his grave, our club is being dismantled from the inside, some may say just like a cancer on the human body.
DARK DAYS ARE AHEAD MY FELLOW EVERTONIANS

As far as I know we sold finch farm to a private company not long after we moved in and we then rented it back, a common move for many businesses across the world. If its now owned by the council it may be good for us because they may charge less rent
Agree0
Disagree0
We have been renting Finch Farm for years, and we've just got a cheaper rent deal in partnership with The City Council.
Man City had a partnership with their City Council which led to their new stadium and ultimately a takeover. Hardly 'dark days'.
Anyway welcome back Mushy.

Biffy, oh Biffy. come on lad, support the team and stop looking at the finances. We don`t know for sure what the transfer money is. Come the 31st August and we have made no signings I will hold my hands up and apologise, however I will always support Everton and will not complain!
Agree0
Disagree0
As said, we have been renting finch farm since it opened, this deal with the council makes the rent less
Agree0
Disagree0
Sources said that we were paying £2 million per year. Now it has been bought by the council we are only being charged £500,000 per year so it makes sense what we have done.

So many that think they've got it all sussed. Find a biilianaire, sell the club, build a £500m stadium and messi, then rule the world.
It's not like that. You need to be successful to attract interest and the right kind of interest. You need to invest to be successful. The board have done everything they can to make us successful. We have relevant debt but I would like to see it reduced to make us more attractive to buyers.
Remember though it has to be the right buyer. Look at Portsmouth, Liverpool as a an example of bad buyers. And look at other clubs that have been run into the ground like Blackburn, Bolton and Wolves.
Our club is run extremely well and we are competative. One of our main issues is communication which has to be improved but we will be sold at some point and because of Bill it will be to the buyer who has a vision suitable for our great club.
BK has put his personal wealth on the line as well as countless, THANKLESS hours into our club and I bet half of the people moaning about him probably don't even have a shirt or season ticket!
Believable0

I totally agree Blue, at the end of the Martinez`s press conference Bill confirmed that he and the board would do everything to support Roberto`s signings.
I am so pissed off with these so called Evertonians who are constantly after Kenwrights head. I am sure these are the few that went to the games in the 70`s and 80`s looking for a fight!
Sailor
Agree0

Take moyes out of the equation, everton under kenwright has been a shambles. stadium fiascos bigger debt, any half decent businessman run a mile. trevor birch, Paul gregg, Wyness. granchester can't stand him. we've progressed on the pitch not due to backing but astute management. bk is in bed with the likes of earl and green hence a price of125 million hence no investment. thankless hours into the club that's his job and thers thousand of season ticket holders who base their views on bk on hard nosed facts, not on cringey speeches about the old days,. he's out of his depth and everton pay the price.

The board have put nothing in and Kenwright used personal wealth to buy sharea and is waiting for his big pay day.

Earl, Jon woods. tell me what they have done. what a joke {Ed025's Note - tell me about it mate..
Agree0

The main problem is the rigged league caused by champions league set up - which means massive money to top 4 and much much less to everyone else - meaning its just impossible to compete any more - it's 'game over' for next 100 years or forever or til we all get bored with Man United or man city or maybe 1 other billionaire club winning it every year
Fans of all other teams should be complaining more
Gone are the days when a decent manager like clough or Kendal could put a cracking team together and win the league - it can't happen now which is v sad and just boring in a way
Complain more to league and to radio phone ins
Agree0

3rd poster, support the team and stop f***ing complaining, I am sick to the back teeth of you Kenwright haters. As a former poster wrote `who would you like to take over?` Considering Bill is a passionate supporter would you prefer a Sheikh from abudabi to take control?

Guys, what you have to realise is the likes of `Robert Earl` and `John Woods` were not brought on to the board of Everton to provide money, only expertise. Yes, they have vast amounts of money but not the amount to run or highly invest in a football club. You rodents who infest our Football Club wanting a Saudi or another Billionaire to take us over should be banned from Goodison. Good riddance

Agree0

It gets me that a lot of fans hate bill. but a member of the board. lord granchester is worth 1. 1 billion. why aren't fans getting on his back to buy all these players they want. or is he a silent board member who won't put his hand in his pocket
Agree0
Disagree0
To all the boys that are slagging off the board why don't you all get together pool all your cash and buy the club. If you have not got enough cash for that how about paying some of the players wages. Then you might understand why people are a little reluctant to throw their money away at a football club.

I think if you can get him for a good price, he'll be a worthwhile acquisition. Sure he was rubbish at Spuds, but he was decent at every other club. I suspect further appearance/goals at Villa would've activated another payment. A bit like Craig Gordon at Sunderland. I'd take Bent in a heartbeat. Still a good player and only 29 (I think!)

Got to agree with Wavertree Blue, I think Roberto will get the best out of Jelavic, but he likes to play 2 up front and I can`t see that being Vic. so Kone might fit the bill (no pun intended!)

Lets use a little bit of Logic, there isn't any point in posting rumours yet because we just see how much of BSer you are. Martinez doesn't officially take charge until July 1st and we won't go in for Negredo, Fer etc.
Because they where Moyes' targets, Martinez will have his own shortlist, and whilst he is waiting to officially take over I am sure he will try his best to get the backroom staff in, I think they're the only rumours that should be on here.

Agree0

I think you're being niave to think that RM won't be looking at potential targets already. Also it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that RM would be interested in some of the same players as DM. Lastly although I choose not to believe most of the rumours posted here, I would never tell anyone not to post them, it is called Everton Rumours after all.
Agree0
Disagree0
I'd start reading the posts more carefully, because 99% of them are about players people would like the club to sign, ie, banter. And if you really think that RM won't start to think about who he'd like to sign until July 1st, then I pity you. As for former targets, ie, Fer, etc, then I'm sure the board will point out which players they know might sign, and ask RM if he likes them. Fer's being saying he'd like to join us almost every week since his deal fell through, so if RM likes him, don't you think that the deal is already being discussed, despite it not being July 1st? Probably to do with the reporting of the BU meeting. Big Nev slating him and the meeting showing that since he took over as chairman, he has brought nothing to the club. We all know he is not a billionaire, but we as a club have stagnated behind the scenes, and that is down to the board.
Agree0

I've been a negative poster on bk. my main beef is not just about investment. it's progress the board seams to sit like a gentle mans club with bill coming out every now and then with a speech on emotions on being like us. we need new dynamics in the board, he's leads us, his appointments or any new arrivals on the board, never achieve anything elstrone was a deputy CEO, earl was brought in, for what. I don't like bashing kenwright. when bill came in arsenal played in a similar ground with a similar fan base. the difference now is massive. spurs under levy are pushing on,. as a club we are standing still,. we need to make some key decisions if there's no sign of investment, get a new business plan because we've had the same for years. anyone who supports bill must admit that are commercial model has been abysmal for a club of everton size. with are board now are aspirations and are standards have slipped. Neville southall can be outspoken but he made a statement the other day that we shouldn't be happy even comin second. we should be hearing more of this, moyes went to utd with a whimper. Being chairman of everton u have to be up to the job. for over a 100 years are boards were revered and spoken of has been pioneers in the english game the last 20 years them standards have been not nearly good enough.

He would of told Bill who he wants and who he would like to sell already. It'll come down to how quick we negotiate with the clubs and players etc. So wouldn't expect any signing before the players return to training maybe even couple of weeks after that. IMO

And of course Bill's such a cheapskate he doesn't like to sign people until as late as possible to save non playing summer wages

I'm sorry but if we have 15m to spend and we sell Fellaini for 22m that leaves us with 37m and maybe additional sales such as Heitinga and Gueye which should take us to the 40m mark.
So for me the team next season should be
Howard
Coleman
Distin
Jagielka
Baines
Mirallas
Fer
Capoue
Pienaar/Lens
Belhanda
Moses/Ba?
alright maybe I am in dream land but that's a top 4 team easy

Be great if we could get away with it but not heard of any changes to the laws of the game indicating we can field 16 players at once

Demba Ba, anyone? reckon Everton are one of the favourites to sign him, when Mourinho's had his clearout.

If you had a choice between Fer or Honda who would you choose? i'd have fer yes honda would be cheaper but fer is a class player.

I bet you haven't seen a match fer has played because at the moment Hondas twice the player I would be a better osman
Agree0

Fer is good but go on youtube and watch what honda does. His free kicks are awesome as are baines' s but honda hits em with awesome power. he very quick and skilled on the ball. Plus honda is a att mid where fer is a box to box mid
Agree0

I would go for Honda myself if had to choose as we need more attacking options its probably what cost us a European place last year. Plus he would probably cost a couple mill cheaper than Fer. But would still like to think we could get both and keep Fellani
Agree0

Right now, I would go for Honda as well. Think we could still do with a creative player and that is what Honda brings. Very good on the ball, creative, can pick a pass and his free kicks are world class.
Aside from his on field potential, the fact that he is more or less, alongside Kagawa, the face of football in Japan and would surely boost our bottom line with merchandise.

I just want to gauge peoples thoughts. Who would take fer and mccarthy for fellaini or would you be happy to just keep felli. Also in just reading peoples post i'm amused to see people call mccarthy a good squad player, this kid is going to be a star when wigan beat us in the cup he ran the show plus arsenal and chelsea have been linked so he is no mug and he is the real deal.

He would surely command a fairly hefty transfer fee (even if it's a reasonable initial payment with various add-ons), but I reckon he would bring something extra to our centre-midfield.
Belgian-Bunn {Ed025's Note - there is no doubt he is a good player bunn, it will all boil down to cost mate..

Guess who was on the bench for the U21 German side that got beat by Spain. Mustafi! Just another one of our youths let go on the free to make it at another club. Shocking.

How many young players have we brought into the club and then seen them not successfully progress through to become first team regulars? And those that have been any good - or promising at least - were transferred out, usually in order to generate funds. Am I the only one who thinks the "David Moyes brings youngsters on" claim was a myth? I hope that Roberto Martinez does better with the young talent we have at the club.

Typical moyes for you that's why I laugh whenever a united fan says 'powell, zaha and lanuzaj will get chances next year because moyes plays youth' he never plays youth did any of you know he loaned in eric dier during the 2011-12 season he's 18 and didn't even play him? Look at villa there youth is nowhere near as good as ours and they survived relegation you never know who might be good if you don't give them a chance but mr negative didn't oh well I hope martinez does as we have some good one's lundstram, barkley, kennedy, stones, duffy, long, green, hope and taudel and a few others I've probably not mentioned

Agree with the post regarding youth but Eric Dier came specifically to be in the youth team for experience - he was never supposed to be in the 1st team
Anyone fancy De Guzman if Felli goes?
