In January, I posted saying I thought we should have thrown caution to the wind and looked to bring another 2 or 3 in to the squad as this would be the best chance we'd have of breaking into the top 4. It's going to be so tight - realistically still 6 or 7 teams pushing for 3rd and 4th spot.
There's no doubt that all of the teams will drop points, just need to hope we can steer clear of injuries and that Carlo can keep he lads on track, believing they can do it. Must beat the baggies in Thursday! COYB!

Going forward - if we sign Aarons (or someone similar) our defence seems covered forca number of years.
If Pickford plays like he has last couple of games we have a world class keeper
Forward - Richarlison, DCL, King, Simm +- Kean in comparable to best in league

Gbamin, Davies, Decore, Allan seem good centre midfield options

James / Sigi / Gomes - they need to be addressed - especially if James not staying. Wait Maxime at NUFC is someone who would be for sale - he’s young and tries very hard - better option than Zaha.

Like pickford has played last 2 games? He was excellent in the derby, but most certainly not excellent in the saints game. You will point to the great save he made late on - the majority of goalkeepers in the prem would not have made that save. Why? Simple - because they would have caught the cross, drama free, that he flapped at directly leading to the chance. It wasn't the only time he flapped at a cross either. In the derby I thought, somewhat unusually, he was excellent with crosses. But sadly it is an entirely different story when he is under pressure. I don't dispute he is a decent shot stopper, but if he did the basics right he would have a lot less shots to save.

77.8 distribution rate - Pickford started the Everton goal. 2 clean sheets in a row

I’d take this.

We'll have to agree to disagree on his performance in the saints game. He looked an accident waiting to happen to me, but credit where its due on the occasion when his mistake directly led to an easy chance he redeemed himself by keeping it out. He's already cost us a lot of points this season but as I say I do agree that he's a decent enough shot stopper so maybe if he suddenly develops the ability to dominate his box in a calm manner he will be a decent keeper!

I thought Pickford played well. on the corners they stuck two or three right on him and he kept flinging himself to reach that ball. I only saw him miss one in the six yard box and that was due to the delivery.

His composure has been better but let's see how it goes. We've been here before. However, he's won us 6 points in the last two games. Can't ask for much more.

How has he won us 6 points in the last 2 games? He did his job very well in the derby, as did the rest of the team. He had very little to do against Southampton and made 1 good save which he only needed to make as a result of his own error.

By making saves at crucial times. His job yes but still, you can't have a go when he's done well.

Trust me Davey I still prefer us to go out there and find someone who is consistent but slating him when he has "done his job very well" ain't right. Again if he performs poorly point out his errors but give a balanced view when he does something good.

Think you need to re-read my posts. I have stated, very clearly, that he did well against Liverpool. But making a big save that was only required because of his own mistake for me is not him winning us the game - its him redeeming himself for his error and as a result not costing us the game.

Every player will make a mistake in every game. Outfield players never have 100% pass accuracy or score from every shot.

Jordan did not concede a goal but of course can still improve in certain aspects. You seem to want to credit everyone else when there is a clean sheet. However, when it is pickford even when, as you say redeems himself, he should have no credit whatsoever.

I'd maybe say you have failed to be a good supporter. Hopefully, we find a better one to replace you. Although, I hope you can redeem yourself and in which case I'll back you to keep improving.
