Reality is if you get a new stand to increase your attendance due to your 'worldwide' following then the cost gets recuperated from these fans. The 77th minute walkout was great in my local as it meant I could get to the bar.

{Ed001's Note - the cost is recuperated from naming rights for the stand. Not to mention the huge new TV deal. It is the likes of you that will lead to Everton following suit in the future.}

I sat fair play to those fans. Clubs are happy to pay players 100k + a week and for us fans to be the ones who suffer. Regardless of the team, fans should unite on this as the premier league gets richer and yet tickets prices are getting higher.

When the premier league sold out to sky all those years ago, one of the main stipulations was that ticket prices will be kept down with the money, Reckon that lasted about 1 season because nobody really policed it,

Judging by final score, looks like the Liverpool players walked off after 77 mins too :-)

ed001, don't think you can blame fans for any club owners being that greedy. If, as you say, bluegray and his attitude will lead to EFC putting prices up then you must be blaming some LFC supporters for their current plight?
For the record, I think the reds have been shafted, some mates of mine need to find another £200+ to keep their season tickets next year, but, as a club, their current owners have spent (possibly wasted) over £300m since taking control. Didn't see too many reds moaning when they were splashing the cash.

{Ed001's Note - yes it is the fans fault for not standing up and fighting sooner. Everyone saw what happened at Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs but people didn't care until it affected them. Spending money they don't have is not an excuse for fleecing fans, especially when they spent it so badly. It would be much better to learn how to run a football club than look to make others pay for your mistakes.}

So when exactly should they have stood up? Take Liverpool as an example, nobody was making a stand when the owners splashed the cash, they were happy to see new players come into the squad.
The difference for next year is the tv rights, with it being worth a tremendous amount, should filter down to the fans and make it cheaper for the working man to attend games. We all agree on that as it will affect all clubs if their board choose to be greedy. The fact is that, while fans can spare the cash to go to a game, they will follow their team regardless. Can't blame them for that imo.

The Stoke fans must of been complaining about being charged 45 bullets next season then, they all funked off at half time!

{Ed025's Note - love it mate..
