So I have a theory on why it has taken time for us to dive into the market.

I think our targets all depended on either Lukaku or Stones going. If neither of these left the club we would have gone out and signed players but not of this calibre that we are looking at now and maybe not as many. We may even have not signed in all of these positions.

With the extra money from Stones we were able to aim at a level up and more EPL proven players which cuts out the risk of buying players yhat don't adapt to our league. Looking at what happened to Liverpool and Spurs when they went to town shopping we are hopefully learning a lesson.

I think that once these 3 or 4 are signed up and done there may well still be more in the bank for that statement making player.

Its only a theory but we don't look like stopping anytime soon and those moaning about delaying or waiting or whatever for players might just sit down on sep 1st and think what have we been worrying about.

COYB NSNO.

A keeper should be our priority. All the top teams have a great keeper - break the bank for Forster.

Totally agree John, RK had a lot of assessing to do with the squad he inherited, coupled with waiting on Stones and city. Hopefully a few more added by the end of the week.
Agree with BB4 on we need a top class keeper but am I one of the few that doesn't rate FF? I'd rather throw money at Butland and, dare I say it, Hart! Both are miles better that Forster imo.

{Ed025's Note - i like butland spud and i also rate FF, but hart is an accident waiting to happen for me mate, far to pretty for a keeper..

I'm not a fan of Hart. Too hype up in every sense of the word.

I do like the other two but FF would be my choice. I would have loved Schmichel though.

I'm not sure on Mata. He's a big name but I don't know if he's a big game player anymore and it would depend on the outlay on whether he would be worth it.
