What do people think on the captain situation? Do you think Koeman will keep Jagielka on as captain? Perhaps at the end of the preseason he may elect a new captain. Personally I don't think Jags is intimidating enough or vocal enough to be captain material. You want your captain to be contesting every decision the referee makes against your team, you want him to be the player that riles the team up when things aren't going so well. The only player I see in this current team that could possibly be that man is Coleman. He's had the armband before for Rep. of Ireland, and for Roy Keane to say that he stepped up to the plate after being made captain is a huge gesture to the type of character Coleman is. What do you think Ed, and other posters?

I don't mind Jags and he tends to stay calm while at the back he keeps them organised. I would prefer a midfielder as he can influence a little more there but Captains on the pitch that shout and scream are overrated.

As for having a go at the ref. How many times have you seen a ref change his decision because a player had a go at him? usually the ref takes it personally and doesn't give you anything afterwards.

i thought Coleman captained the Rebublic well in the Euros, may be a good choice as captain.

Gotta be Coleman.
