I for one am happy personally if none of our players get in England team, we know how good they are, and as usual the England manager only picks from certain teams, how is Henderson there I don't know.

Anyway if our players aren't there in the limelight then we won't get any stupid offers for them, and there heads won't be turned, it's a selfish way to look but all I care about in footie is Everton.

They can start fresh in the summer, and move up a gear.

Although I understand the thinking, I think it would be fair to say that most players want to play for their nation (especially in euros and world cups) . If they believe that they are playing well enough, but are being passed over because of the club they play for, then I think they would have to at least consider moving on.

In my opinion, I would rather have clubs interested in our players, but the players be happy and achieve their targets, then to be unhappy and want to leave.

If it does turn out that teams are interested and the player wants to leave, then we should not stand in their way as long as we are getting a good price for them.

Catch 22 for me pb, like you said if are players are not picked there is less chance of the so called big clubs coming in for them. On the other hand, if we can see the favouritism towards players from certain clubs surely our players and their agents can too. I personally think it's better to have players selected and playing well at international level therefore demanding a hefty fee should their heads be turned, as oppose to a non international wanting to leave because he feels he's being overlooked for not being at the 'right' club. Just a thought mate.
