If the sale of the club goes through I wish Kenwright the best of luck. From those days of Johnson to now I can't even begin to tell you the difference.

In those days we couldn't have paid clubs to take some of the players we had. Many old and not good enough. The only direction we were taking was to the lower leagues.

Now though when he leaves we will have three players that could be sold for 50mil each and a team swamped in potential that only leaves us with hope and optimism.

The only thing that has eluded Kenwright is a trophy but not for the want of trying.

The debt at the club is negligible and the new owners can put money into the clubs infrastructure rather than the team and this is no doubt the appeal of the club. The reason before is that they would have needed to build a stadium AND invest heavily on the team.

Now though the usual coffers through the door in the new tv deal can still fund the team and enough revenue to find a stadium. That is the big difference in why we are getting new investment.

I believe we would have been a Portsmouth rather than a man city if we would have had investment before.

As for Kenwright he deserves a legacy and the naming of s stand and a statue amoungst our.

{Ed025's Note - i remember the "agent johnson" era only too well john, dark days indeed, i think when you look at everton they are a snip at £200m if that is the price mate..

With 3 players worth 50 Mill each that means the value of the Club with facilities and other playing staff etc is just worth 50 Mill. Getting a bargain it seems to me.

{Ed025's Note - its the sale of the century mate...im just going to see whats in my current account and dimple bottle to see if i can get a piece of it.. :)

I managed to cut myself off short. Damn fat fingers!

Duncansmum you will be one of the few on here to realise it is a bargain whereas many think Bill has been ripping the club off in holding out for this sum.

Me I think he has done nothing but great things for us. It's not as if he hasn't backed managers or put other things before the building the team. The biggest problem for him is that he is a fan and some believe that gives us a right to treat him the way we do. The banners, marches and flags calling for him to leave have been disgraceful in my opinion and I felt embarrassment every time it happened.

No longer fighting for our lives and with the best team we've had in decades. When you look at the yoyo clubs we would have been like Villa and Newcastle to name but a few I think there are some supporters that need to take a long hard look at themselves.

{Ed025's Note - your preaching to the converted there mate..

Haha. I know Ed. It's frustrating sometimes that people don't realise what other owners have done to their clubs. Yet we've had this guy who has almost performed a miracle from what the club has come from.

{Ed025's Note - i agree mate..

am converted to but at present and for a few years everton football clubs only assets are the players, they don't own goodison or finch farm or merchandise, the bank own goodison, the council own finch farm and kit bag have a share of the merchandise, kenwright had to sell everything to keep us afloat which at the time I didn't understand but now I do hat off to the true blue he must go down as everton legend only because stones lukaku and ross plus other players we are valued at what we are and why we can sell we have never been in a position to in the past which is why I understand now.

I remember Johnson bad days and to think he beat kenwright then to buy us. Then kenwright bought us off him.

Well said BlueJohnUns. Your right not everyone appreciates BK. Fair enough but I'm firmly on the same side as you.

I don't mind people giving constructive criticism against BK. He's not perfect and didn't do everything right while in charge. It's when people start giving abuse and show absolutely 0 remorse for his health that annoys me.

He tried his best for Everton. You could stand on your head for some people and they would still find something to give out about.

I'd be surprised if the take over is completed by the summer. It's not a case of Stones, Barkley and Lukaku are worth £150 and the rest of the club is worth £50m so there you have £200m. I don't think you believe that either Duncansmum.

Takes a lot to run a small business so I can only imagine what it takes to run a club and brand like Everton. The majority of supporters myself included wouldn't have a clue of the first thing about how to run a premiership football club.

I just hope the new owners do as good a job as BK. Personally I'd rather get to the top the way we are trying at the moment. Keep our dignity.

I know the majority would rather us be the new Chelsea or Man City. Fair enough if it brings trophies.

But I'm very proud of Everton's history. We are the second longest team in the top flight after Arsenal. Recently I've seen that Everton have spent the most seasons in the top flight since the beginning of football.

Something like 112 years collectively spent in the top flight in the club's entire history. More than any other club in the history of the game. Now that is something to be very proud of.

Plenty of people contributed to that. let's hope we add more people to that list in the not too distant future.

{Ed025's Note - good post that mate..

I will always love bill for getting us rid of Johnson and I will never forget what Walter did for us at that time to he put his arse on the line for us fans by backing bill and forcing a sale.
