Why was Besic not even on the bench?

The standard of the refereeing today has given Martinez yet another excuse he can hide behind.

Two forced substitutions is unfortunate but from my seat there seemed to be a competition to be the first to leave the field, obviously Jags and Howard played the seniority card.

The system we play depends on keeping the ball and moving forward at our own pace. Works brilliantly in training. Martinez hasn't figured out yet that on match days the people in the non-blue kit are allowed to kick the ball. Can one of our coaches please give him a heads up?

Martinez also tends to hide a lot behind the stats. The trouble is you can read anything into stats. However, the only stat that really counts is the one were the opposition has a higher number in the 'goals for' column than we do. Can one of our statisticians please give him a heads up?

Big Joe is on the staff. He knows the players. He watches the same crap we do. He must have an idea or two.

Surely not everyone at Goodison or Finch Farm can be blind to the fact that we are really in trouble?

At what stage and what position in the table do we have to be in before someone in the corridors of power grows a pair and shouts enough is enough with this one-season one-system wonder?

If the worst comes to the worst and results don't improve, I would love big Joe back.
Didn't take him long to steady the ship and win a trophy.
