aaah Mr Bond I beg to differ, from the Prem league site mate:

There are two transfer windows in each Barclays Premier League season 2014.

The first commences at midnight on the last day of the season and ends on 31 August if a working day - or, if not, on the first working day thereafter, at a time determined by the Board.

The second transfer window commences at midnight on the 31 December and ends on the 31 January if a working day, and again, if not, on the first working day thereafter, at a time determined by the Board

you can't always be right Scots Ed

{Ed002's Note - With the exception of free agents, transfers cannot be processed for the EPL until July 1.}

Also @ Sid. I don't think there is much money available mate. I know people are banding 4p-50 million to spend but I just get the impression that we're still the same old Everton without a pot to p**s in and that is why we never seem to be able to do a deal simply because we have to negotiate and wrangle every last aspect of one because money really is that tight

3.) 10 Jun 2014
That hasn't stopped PSG signed Luiz, Chelsea Costa, Newcastle Colback, Liverpool Caan etc etc though has it Ed to be fair we could still have deals done and dusted so using the market not being open doesn't really wash

{Ed007's Note - It doesn't really matter if it washes with you, rules are rules, it's not my fault.}

So how come Rickie Lambert has transferred from Southampton to Liverpool? Is he still registered as a Southampton player until July 1st?

{Ed007's Note - Yes.}

Please digest this info Ed, no need for an apology

Transfer deals - June 2014
The transfer window re-opened on the final day of the domestic season and will close at 23:00 BST on Monday, 1 September.

Clubs could buy domestic players again once they had played their final game of the season. International deals can go through from 10 June.

Once the transfer window closes, teams can still sign free agents and clubs outside the Premier League can bring in loan players in the case of an emergency.

Under Football League rules, long-term loans can be also turned into permanent deals outside a transfer window.

{Ed007's Note - Why are you quoting FL rules to me, did Everton get relegated last year? You can apologise in your next post and hurry up smart ar$e, I'm waiting.....}

You can wait as long as you want Ed7 and 2, you don't like being wrong especially Ed2, and I was a smart ass because of the smart ass replies we usually get of Ed 2

the rules are on the prem league site, players have been bought and sold, go and read them yourself, I was trying to have a joke but obviously if its one of us being a smart ass then it doesn't cut it with some of the eds

Delete and ban if that suits you

{Ed007's Note - I always thought jokes were meant to be funny, I take it you don't like being wrong then? Thankfully I never am so I don't know how it feels and I'm a misanthropist so I can't even pity you. I'm happy enough just to sit here feeling smug and taking great pleasure in upsetting you so much, I actually prefer that than have you grovelling at my feet, that gets boring after a while.
You obviously have no idea how tough it is being right all the time, there's actually a lot of pressure on you, but you'll never need to worry about that. Perhaps you should think about lowering your caffeine intake, masturbation is also supposed to help lower blood pressure levels.}

Bit of a furore over nothing. Ed quite rightly states that the window is currently closed. However, clubs can negotiate deals now which will then be processed on the 1st day of the transfer window. Therefore the fact the transfer window is closed is not an excuse for our lack of activity. The reason we aren't hearing anything official is more likely to be down to our negotiations being done in private. Like any deal in any business situation, you don't go blurting this stuff out.

I'll get my coat ;-)

{Ed007's Note - See what you've started! :)
