I was thinking about players who would fit into our system to replace ageing players in our squad looking ahead at the summer if robbie is saving money to spend then rather than now. I do believe lukaku is a talent, but may feel we could replace him with just as strong centre forward next season on loan and add quality to our squad in other areas. 2 wingers names who I have been fond of for a while are Yevhen Konoplyanka and Andriy Yarmolenko. Both game changing influential wingers, replacing pienaar who seems to be ready to go home to south africa and osman who can only play in 30 minute stints before he's puffing. Would like to see our team transform into a deadly squad of players rather than a great 1st 11 and a few stop gaps on the bench. Imagine if we bought both these players in the summer, the forward line up could be from:
mcgeady, mirallas, barkley, osman, deloufeu (hope barca let him stay another season), Yarmolenko, Konoplyanka, kone, and another striker ( mandzukic, benzema, gomez or jovetic would be a dream)

So play four wingers then?

No. A squad of forward players. Playing 3 of the 7 each game with one striker as we do at present. First choices would be konop barkley yarmelenko/ mirallas. With mcgeady, osman and one of yarm/ mirallas available off the bench. Our system needs to allow the 3attacking players behind the lone striker almost free roles to roam where it becomes irrelevant if they naturally ply their trade as wingers or attacking midfielders.

The reds are talking to konoplyanka

I don't think we could afford the wages for Konoplyanka or Yarmolenko, but I would be happy with either to inject some extra drive into our attack.
