Do you not think we should be recalling Duffy back given how thin we are in CD?

Twoold

{Ed025's Note - yes..

1.) Agreed. The lad should be involved now. He's ready imo same as vellios

2.) Can't see Duffy being ready for a good while yet, if ever. Gave a ridiculous penalty away last weekend and got skinned for the other goal. Seems a bit on the slow side to me and pace isn't something you improve on.

I think he'd do ok at a Stoke or Hull but don't think he's Everton standard yet. I know pace isn't everything but with Distin approaching the end we need at least one CB with pace as neither Jags or Alcaraz are blessed with it.

EFC statement: we don't need to sell Felli to buy McCarthy.
So why try and buy him on the never never?

Well just watched the Mancs an Chelski. Didn't see anything special, defences always on top, and overall the passing was average at best. I believe this lot win more games on reputation than talent. Think Spurs might just have a shout this season, would make a nice change. Might even have cheeky tender on it.

Twoold

1.) Anyone moans about Martinez tactics and formations after this needs ejecting head first from their seats at the Grand Old Lady.
Chelsea started 4-6-0!
Ugliest game of football I've ever seen. Wanted to pull out my eyes!
Dave M

2.) Terrible game. Best two teams in the country?

I think Bill is banking on the sale of Fella so he can give Robbie some dish to spend. Otherwise it's goodbye M&S hello Primark.

Twoold

1.) WE HAVE TV MONEY FFS!

Rich84

2.) No we don't have the increased TV money until August. So expect no major dealings unless we sell Fellaini or Baines.

3.) I'm sure we are allowed to buy players even if we don't have money till August, cause its guaranteed, lots of clubs do it

Moyes sniffing round Baines for 12m. Aged 28 it might possibly be worth a gamble if Bill gives Rob all the money to spend. However, I would rather we kept him and tell Davie to swivel.

Twoold

1.) 27 Jun 2013 17:25:03
that price is an insult, Moyes taking advantage of inside knowledge from what I can see!

2.) Worth a gamble I don't care how much they offer. Baines is by far our most important player. 12m doesn't even but you Jordan Henderson these days, how can anybody say its a good deal.

3.) No no no we are building a team not selling and why do want to sell to that liar motes. anyhow did not billy boy say we are keeping our squad together and adding 2-3 players.
Come on Kenright its time to stand up and be counted.

4.) They paid £22m for RVP - at 29 years old. Baines is just as good but in a different way, so £12m is an insult. £20m is an insult considering how good we know he is for us. He works in our club, so don't risk having to start again in the LB position.

5.) 27 Jun 2013 19:38:14
£12 Mill and the brazilian twins Fabio and Raphael and I'd consider it. Then buy fer and a striker with the £12 mill {Ed025's Note - they can stick their £12m...and jedward..

Is it something he said? Naismith makes good runs and is always looking for the ball. Yet our lads seem reluctant to pass to him. The only time he gets it is when there's nobody else to pass too. Feel sorry for the lad, we keep saying give him a couple of games and see how he goes. But if he doesn't get the ball how's he going to do that. Bye the way Ossie showed yesterday he's great for one half, would use him for the second half though myself.

agree on both counts twoold, but we see the runs via camera angle which is set back a good few hundred yards from the action where it is much simpler to see those runs as opposed to on the pitch where you may or may not see the pass as blatent as it may be. I have sat in the majority of stands around goodison and you get a different interpretation of space from each one. Gwladys and the park end for example shrinks the length of the pitch which makes u think a player running at goal is about 18 yards out and start shouting shoot when he's actually 35 yards out. differently when sitting in the paddock or the family enclosure the pitch space is so vast due to sitting so close to the action that your vision can not see as much of the pitch as you would in the likes of the main stand/ top balcony/ bullens (upper and lower) The players who have an understanding about each others game may not necessarily see the run, but know they are there due to playing with that player for some time, such as pienaar and baines. the more players continue to play regularly together, the more understanding of each others game they will become. This is partially why I am looking forward to our under 18's progressing in about 5/6 years time. Quite similarly to the united team that had scholes, beckham and 2 nevilles break through into their 1st team, they had all played regularly together for some years prior to breaking into the 1st team and understood eachothers strengths.

2.) Fair point Hutton but some of us don't have 5 to 6 years mate. Lol

Just a last point on Barkley and Stones. They are both young players who yes have made mistakes. But have any of you noticed how they don't hide on the pitch scared to receive the ball. No they always make themselves available, always support others, and don't hide when things go wrong. These two young men can and will become the spine of our team, so stop moaning about them and support them on their journey. We will be a poorer team if they leave.

Twoold

1.) I though Stones did rather well. He will not run over people like Seamus, but I think he stood his ground at RB. Good pick up by old coach Moyes (5 points in the back with the payroll larger than most countries). And yes, Barkley is still young. He is as much a greedy ball hog as Mr. Suarez across town. But isn't that the quality you want to refine and foster?

2.) Could not agree more twoold. There confidence and ability should be supported. Players like that take you to the next level.

I think Robbie realises top four is not really on given the current form of other teams. However the cup is, we have players coming back on a weekly basis now so get past the Swans and the team will only strengthen. Barring any more injuries of course, and that's the problem. They all have to stay fit?

See we have another goalie? I'm all for planning for the future, but at this rate I will be to old to remember who I'm watching. Can we have a striker please, please, please.

Well you can't ask for more than a home draw, but this draw came with bonuses. Think we have a really good chance to go all the way this season. (Mind you I said that last year). Still think we need another quality midfielder to finish off season. Top 4 and cup would be very nice.

Isn't he another winger?
Need MIDFIELDER not another winger.
If we don't strengthen with attacking mid in this window then we can kiss top 4 goodbye.

Would imagine Spurs would want what they paid for him. So probably more chance of getting him in the summer, if that's what Robbie wants that is.

Mc carthy will get better and better, and with Ross we have the foundation to build a superb midfield.
