had a bit of an argument with a mate today he is a kopite he said jordi alba is better than baines, god just because he scored two goals against nigeria all of a sudden he is the best left back in the world. opinions lads?

We all know Baines is better than Alba, just look at his stats compared to every other left backs, Kopites say otherwise because they hate us.

Sorry lads Baines is class but Alba is world class imo and is only young too and going to get better.

Jordi alba was a frinch player before his season before joining barca, michael ball could play for barca or spain and look world class

Alba is faster that's all, does bugger all against big teams like real madrid like in the cup di maria had a field day against him and for spain scoes vs tahiti and nigeria that's it did nothing vs bayern munich were it was his fault for all of munichs goals baines is better crosser better defender better passer better link up play better set pieces and oh beyern munich wanted baines and is apparantly wanted by chelsea, united, arsenal and napoli who was after alba? No one barca bought him because he is spanish and is in the same mould as dani alves he can attack but cannot defend and if he was so good why did valencia get rid of him for so cheap? don't listen to kopites they are the most deluded and clueless fans in the world

No doubting Alba is good but not at Baines' s level. Cole is still rated by others to be the best left back in the world and his England place is under serious jeopardy from Baines. Me personally think/know Baines is better than Cole. Think there is some kopite jealousy because we got Baines and they have Enrique.

Alba-world class? On what planet is that then? FIFA 13? FM?Certainly not earth. He's good going forward and has a bit more pace than Baines, but that's it, very dodgy at the back. Given a choice I'd have Baines over Alba every day of the week. He's not in the same league as Baines. Baines is on another level altogether.

Literally alba is faster that's all baines better at EVERYTHING else and to the poster who listed them 3 players one is real madrids 3rd choice left back another I already mentioned and criscito? He is practically a centre back and is in the treatment room half the time {Ed025's Note - im with you skittle..

Alba just darts down the wing at speed waiting for one of the special ones to feed him in, baines doesn't have iniesta or xavi and still does a lot more than alba with the ball

Its only because Baines plays for a non champions league team he gets overlooked. but stats and watching him every week shows he is definitely the best LB there is in my opinion
