Disagree with that. I think he’s got one season left in him as first choice, but I’d like to see him interchanged with a long term successor over the course of the season. Looks like that could be Robinson based on pre-season.

I’d rather have Baines as first choice than bring in someone for the sake of it.

Why don’t we just pay the 25m for Tierney that Celtic want? Feel like he would upgrade our squad and he’s a great prospect.

Baines is past it Windsor. Still does a job for us but offers little going forward these days. He just not got the legs to burst past people. We need someone of similar ilk to Seamus down the left side.

I agree he’s not the player he was Dave, but unless we can get a top drawer LB in to replace him then I’d rather we stick with him than make the kind of rash decision that saw us bring Martina in.

Tierney would be my first choice, but I haven’t seen enough of Digne to have an opinion on him though. If Robinson can keep progressing and learning from Baines then maybe we have a ready made replacement with Baines taking a decreasing role over the course of the season.
