I've just watched Martinez response on tv to the rumour of a £50 million bid from Moyes for Barkley. Hilarious, hopefully it will put that rumour to bed, but it wouldn't surprise me if Moyes came in and embarrassed himself again.

Watched that myself Martin, brought a smile to my face. You just can't fail to be impressed with RM every time you hear him talk, such a positive man who seems to radiate positivity. He comes across as the type of person who could make you believe it was dark when it was daylight.

If 50 million is the right amount of money and upfront then everton should accept but they have to have the money there so they can then possibly buy 4-5 good squad players perhaps barry permanent and 3 good players to compliment the team or get the 50 million but loan back for rest of season?

Why accept £50m, it would send out totally the wrong message and prove we have zero ambition. We should be building a team around him for years to come not selling him off for peanuts. If he goes to Brazil and has a good tournament his value will increase, so selling for £50m is incredibly myopic.

Besides, if we sold him now for £50m, other clubs would raise their prices for any replacements. Anyone willing to sell him now for £50m is not seeing the bigger picture, IMO, though Bill may be rubbing his hands with glee at the prospect of a £50m windfall. Oh, and the majority of transfers are paid over 3 years so no chance of £50 upfront unless it's a condition of the sale.
