To add on to what others have already said, in no scenario do more than 7 get into Europe. In the case that 5 go to UCL, only 2 would get into Europa.

The strangest scenario is if (i) Spurs win CL but finish outside the top 4 in the league, and (ii) Chelsea or Arsenal win Europa but finish outside the top 4 in the league. In this case, since a max of 5 can go to the UCL, the top 3 plus Spurs and Europa winners would get into UCL next year, and the 4th place team would go to Europa along with either Watford or the 7th place team.

Wow, that's a terrible way to look at things. We need to aspire to play and win in Europe every season, not look at past failures and assume they will repeat. And, it's not like we got relegated last time; we finished mid-table, just like all the other recent years. This team and fanbase need to dream bigger. We have the pocketbooks to compete and hopefully have some guys in place now to properly yield that. If you don't want to win in Europe, what do you want? 8th place every year? That's incredible.

City must win FA Cup or else Watford and the top 6 get European slots. If we finish 7th and City win, we would get into the second qualifying round of Europa League. From there, we'd need to win 3 2-legged matches to make it to the group stage.

Hear, hear! Yet, so many Evertonians wanted to get rid of Silva and start over again just a couple months ago, like years of poor decisions could be reversed overnight with a new manager. I reckon the same crowd were the ones pointing to Ole Gunnar Solkjaer as their model for instantaneous success. I'm not making any guarantees, but I maintain that our best chance at breaking into the top 6 (and hopefully top 4) is to see it out with Silva and Brands, who certainly have us on a positive trajectory. And, it very well might be the same for United and OGS, but they have a long project in front of themselves, not an instantaneous fix.

I like Ahmed Hegazy if we don't land one of our first choice CBs. Or even if we do.
