Cheers Ed, sorry I kind of meant is there anyone out there who you think would fit what we are looking for who is out of contract?

I heard that Sarr from Nice was now a free agent CB that we need, I am presuming there is plenty of interest though.

Last year I think we should have gone in for Cahill before his move to palace as a replacement for Jags and just wondered if there is anyone out there from abroad who could do a job,

Yorkieblue

{Ed002's Note - Sarr will be heading elsewhere I am afraid. Garay and Ayala are available as CBs who are free agents.}

1.) 27 Aug 2020 12:47:02
I’ve seen that Sarr is going to Chelsea.

26 Aug 2020 22:16:54
Ed are there any decent free transfers out there that we may look at bringing in either short term or for the future?

Yorkieblue

{Ed002's Note - The club should not be grabbing player simply because they are out of contract - they need to be looking for players who can fit in and deliver.}

1.) 27 Aug 2020 09:34:44
We where linked with Zivkovic from benfica last season they wanted £30 mill and now apparently he's available as a free agent do you thing he’s some one were still interested in?

2.) 27 Aug 2020 10:23:07
Benfica have released him from his contract. Why would they do that? Injuries? Bad attitude? Smells fishy.

3.) 27 Aug 2020 08:35:39
Do you not fancy a job at Everton ed.

Delph good signing for me

Not a replacement for Gana but a solid midfielder that will add competition for places, box to box plenty of energy and quick to read the game

Personally I think that spells the end for

Morgan sniderlain
Besic (has pretty much gone)
McCarthy

But still leaves us with

Gomes
Davies
Gana
Delph
Siggy.

My hope is that we have all our ducks in a row before we sell Gordon,

Spend the money before announcing the sale otherwise we will end up paying over the odds for players and end up in a very precarious position of desperate buys to try and plug gaps.

Never east been a blue but we have the potential to come out of this window much stronger than when we entered it fingers crossed we have everything in place.

In the flip side we are more than capable of cocking it right up ?.

Yorkieblue

1.) 23 Aug 2022 09:19:29
I would only sell him if we have a replacement? or the money will go missing.

2.) 23 Aug 2022 09:38:20
You go to buy early in the window and pay top money, you go last minute and pay top money. What does that really mean? Players are sold for whatever the deal is. We can't be held over cash filled barrels for higher prices like the last 5 years as everyone knows 2 clubs tried to sue us for FFP possible breach. So I'm sorry but this is just some fan paradox. We will hopefully get that money for Gordo and already have our targets lined up. We won't be going out competing for 50m players all of a sudden. We will likely get a cheap or nominal throw in with someone like Bat's (like it or not, he's the one consistently linked and ed2 has repeated that all summer) last year of contract and clearly not going to play so they want rid. And then a possible Che Adams type or Diaz (my personal fav of the recent linked) and we will likely be looking at about 10 to 15m and we will still haggle to pay that over several seasons. If we do get 50m + then we may end up getting a surprise 3rd signing? I'm discounting Gueye here because I've a feeling he's going to come regardless, we're just playing Window chicken with PSG. Sounds like nobody else is in for him and they have the choice to get rid or keep a player who'll cost em a small fortune not to play. I think we've handled the window exactly how we had to. It's frustrating and unnerving obviously but that's our lot for the next 18 months. 2 strikers and 2 midfielders wod be just what the doctor ordered please! And if 2 of them are PXs from Gordon's deal and another is a cheap nominal for Gueye. That gets the next winter window into credit and gives us some breathing space with say 35 to 40m in the bank. We could be Leicester so it could be a worse window.

3.) 23 Aug 2022 13:32:50
Lee, bit of a silly statement to make there mate. FM has spent fortunes on the club since coming in, albeit wasting most of it. When has cash ever 'gone missing'?

4.) 23 Aug 2022 15:14:14
Where's the Gordon money Bill? lol.

Be interesting to see how quick some of these players come back from injury now Benitez has gone and a new man’s in charge.

Fingers crossed Lampard can get the best out of this lot, personally I am looking forward to the summer when some of these so called pro’s are out of contract and can be shown the door.

Benitez was a poor choice but the players aren't blameless, they have let us down time and time again, a big broom needed to sweep out some of the rubbish and then hopefully we can start building for the future!

Also I’m a massive Ferguson fan as most of us are but he needs to go and start a career and get experience, Sunderland would be perfect for him.

Need to replace unsworth also get someone younger more current and ultimately singing of the same page as the first team manager.

Music to my ears, say what you will about the big man and managing! he knows exactly what we want and what’s expected!

They are upbeat sessions, with hard work and clear and simple messages, " he said.

“I am getting among the players and telling a few home truths because the past has not been good enough.

“But it is in the past. We move forwards, the game is coming and let’s get ready for it.

“They [Everton players] should give everything.

“They should run themselves into the ground.

“They should roll up their sleeves and fight for the Club in every single game.

“Imagine if you asked a fan to put a shirt on and get on the pitch, what would they do?

“We need to be doing that.

“I have to improve the tempo and aggression of the team, keep chipping away at the players about how important it is to get the victories.

“The result, of course, is massively important, but we need an improvement [in performance].

“I have confidence in the players and the team and think they can win every game and that will be no different on Saturday.

“We have a lot of great players in there and they will step up, I am sure. ”.

What I would like to know is if Dunc wants the job, or not, if so then we should give him a run of games, he has the backing of the fans and if he wants it, then he needs to speak up, if he is happy to step aside after a few games, and does not want it, then I would get rid of him.

2.) 21 Jan 2022 02:14:26
Can't argue with what he's saying Yorkie but he's been first team coach/ assistant manager for years. Shouldn't he have been saying this in those roles

If he has been then he has been ineffectual and should have gone. If he hasn't - why not?

I want him to succeed but I have my doubts.

3.) 21 Jan 2022 08:40:58
Who knows bw2412. Appoint some of these 'name' managers and not a lot of listening will be going on. Dunc would have some input with some but others not so much. Benitez (who I wanted yes) it turns out had/ has an ego (justified a decade ago) that it would appear (bench silence on match days) doesn't recognise input.

4.) 21 Jan 2022 08:55:58
I agree DFS, Duncan appeared to me like he was saying . . . look this is Rafa's show he doesn't want advice or input full stop.

5.) 21 Jan 2022 09:17:10
I agree to some point bw but sometimes people don’t listen and Benitez struck me as one of those people,

by all accounts Carlo wanted to take him to Madrid so he can be bad at his job.

The key things for me is we need to improve performance and we also need to close the divide between the club and the fans, that is going to take time and the right people around the club,

Dunc and Baines will have the crowd with them which will get the players going, in all honesty we can’t possibly goes backwards from the performances over the past 14 games!

It is just refreshing to hear someone inside the club talk like an Everton Fan.

6.) 21 Jan 2022 10:46:17
I wouldn't expect Dunc to be vocal, shouting out at players during the match. In all other teams it is only the manager that does this during the match

What I would expect from him though is to be vocal in the dressing room and on the training ground and that includes giving the home truths he is saying he was giving this week

All I am saying is that he should have been giving these already or else, what is he doing? Taking training is not just jogging around the pitch with them. It is telling them what they are doing wrong and working with them to correct it and getting them to give maximum effort

I like Duncan and will be shouting for him and the team tomorrow but reading his interview I felt 'Why only now? '

7.) 21 Jan 2022 12:06:08
None of us are on the training ground we don't know if he did or didn't, but looking at the way he speaks about the team and how they play I'm sure he would have IF the manager let's him. I'm under the same impression that Rafa was the boss and he ran things, where Carlo led the team and encourage fhe coaches imput.

8.) 21 Jan 2022 12:31:45
Lets' hope so Blueboy. We could all do with a good result/ performance tomorrow

Do you know what it is that Digne and Bernard are referring to?

It can’t all be Rafa as Bernard was leaving before Rafa came in.

It’s a really strange comment on his instagram which insinuates that there is something or someone is really rotten within the club!

1.) 14 Jan 2022 10:22:32
Whether they are having a pop as a responsive remark at the door hitting their backsides on their way out, which happens or something is amiss Yorkie, my 'guess' is a bit of both mate.

2.) 14 Jan 2022 10:49:58
Sour grapes because we got shut of them.

Afternoon Blues / Ed’s

Can anyone give me some goods new regarding Everton?

If we were a dog we would have been put down by now! It’s like we are run by teenagers playing footie manager for the first time ??‍♂️.

Agreed that brands needs to pull his finger out but part of the problem is the constant change in manager,

We will continue in this cycle while we keep changing out style of play to fit the manager all our signings are reactive without any real plan In place.

Chelsea are a prime example of a club who by players for a system and the manager has to work with what he is given. I know they are on a different level but they have an identity and they stick to it.

Makes life miles easier. Leicester are another club and now Villa are going down the same route but players to fit the club not the manager

We are in danger in my opinion of being left miles behind.

Agreed Ginger, the issue we have is them picking the right man history tells us that won’t happen.

We have a board that is not on the same page with each other which is a dangerous place to be.

Morning Blues,

All great points Brian, as fans we are sometimes blinkered to everything that goes on.

Personally I think he is a horse caught between two stalls. He knows we need to start playing better more attacking football but I think he knows the players are either not capable or don’t back him to perform better.

We have had really good Man Managers over the last 5 years all credited for being great with the players, Silva, Carlo and even Sam, we now have the polar opposite a supposed master tactician.

Our injury record this year is horrible! Don’t get me wrong the players out will be injured but there will be an element of some of them not wanting to play In this current style or for this current manager.

Digne been a case in point he has question Rafa and essentially been shown the door.

In a way I applaud him for taking a hard line I think we have lack that over the last 5 years but there has to be a middle ground.

Ashley Williams question his training of set pieces last night on the BBC and I would agree we are all over the shop. that is a coaching problem as they could do it last year.

Middle field has been an issue for a few years now and the full backs are hopefully getting sorted with the two new lads.

My worry is that Rafa is not a long term solution even if we limp over the line this year what happens long terms?

For me there is Still a lack of direction fingers crossed I’m wrong.

Totally Agree Mike but there track records before us speaks for themselves, it does make you wonder who or what is the problem.

I honestly thought brands would be the making of us, implementing a system running through the club where everyone was on the same page, academy players stepping up knew the roles because they had been playing them previously, transfer and scouting had a direction and the club setup commercially to make money.

Sound so simple, fingers crossed Rafa can navigate this better than Brands and Walsh the next two windows are huge!
