I think Silva is a good shout for manager is he any more of a risk than moyes, who left a bitter taste but a lot of his players have yet to be replaced. I'll support my team whoever is in charge as I watch the players not the man in the dugout for 90 mins. Yes a good manager is important but for me it's what's on the pitch, and unfortunately there not clicking, proven by the 3 guys that have failed to get the best from them this season.

From what I've read on sky sports from players who have played under him, we could have a very astute and promising head coach.

2.) 30 May 2018 15:21:58
I like what I read about him too, just hope the guy gets chance before the boo brigade start.

3.) 30 May 2018 21:40:14
Or the (cynic in me) Everton Club PR Team having read and seen the doubt about Silva, have been instructed to go into overdrive with the positivity.

An Everton dressing room insider. where do they come up with this stuff at the sun, had to read to see what the fuss was, pure garbage! Next they will tell us the squeaky wheel on the tea trolley disrupted vital team tactic talks, with several top players demanding it be oiled or they will leave.

If you read the post online by the red paper, Sam says there's nothing wrong with the style of play, you play better football when you get better players. Forgive me if I'm mistaken but you sit 2 defensive midfielders in front of your back 4, then shove midfielders on the wing and your wingers on the bench, then your best most exciting unpredictable player in Germany, ignore the youth players and play your out of form players, then yes I guess you can create an argument to that effect.

Vote for Rooneys goal v WHU at Goodison for goal of the season on BBC sport online. Let's win somethimg this season!

2.) 14 May 2018 10:36:00
It’s self-evident that better individual players SHOULD make a better team that SHOULD play better football, BUT that’s not guaranteed - it all depends on who selects, coaches, organises and motivates those players.
The majority of Evertonians have imho seen enough of Allardyce to believe he’s NOT the manager to take Everton forward.

3.) 14 May 2018 14:10:13
Leicester won the league with a team of players rather than a side of individuals, better players doesn't always win the day, sometimes commitment and dedication and team ethics wins the day.

bluegray87: your point is well made, but I don’t think it contradicts my point.

From what I've read about Silva from digging around the web seams everyone he had contact with says he is a top bloke. We turned his head without a doubt if he is to be our next manager we need to get behind him. Stop all this negativity that's spreading fast.

Hope Rooney stays and grows into a coaching role with us as his presence and experience to guide younger players along would be invaluable.

As for rebuilding we have to rebuild our defence, play our midfield players in there natural positions and most importantly get there confidence up, and if we can find a partner for tosun.

Some of you may disagree but that's my take on it but we can't start next season with sam in charge.

If you sign up to forums and use social media, you are overwhelmed by opinions. There were just as many opinions on the game 100 years ago, just you didn't get to know what someone from the NW thinks about a transfer or manager or tactic.

If you have to keep blasting other opinions and so forth, stop using these medias and go back to before.

You can't come. on here and moan that people are moaning.

Wouldn't get too carried away by predictions of doom, friendlies are what they are and a chance for Silva to experiment with players for his formation.
Most of these guys where played out of position and in then out of the team, frozen out by bad management and could probably have been let down by previous management.
Rumour has it a lb, cb and winger are immanent, but who knows this is how it used to be all of a sudden a player is holding up a shirt, Bill and mosh along with brands have shown enough faith in Silva to hand him the almighty task of getting us back, so us as supporters must do the same.

Turf

1.) 23 Jul 2018 17:38:37
Turf; And the majority of us will mate. A significant proportion though will be holding up the banners and flying the plane before Christmas should Silva fall over.

21 Jul 2018 09:33:16
A player is worth what the selling club asks for and the buying club will pay. We could sit and argue the price all week, but have to give Silva time to build his team before judgment can be made. Iike many i don't have an inside look at players on the training ground, maybe Silva thinks our young stars are good enough and will show them faith. For all we know he could have been told jobs yours, and he spent his gardening leave preparing for this season and keeping tabs on our young lads.
Where going to have to show patience lads moaning about a lack of signings, then moaning about them shows us all up in a bad light.

Turf

1.) 21 Jul 2018 14:32:18
50m is crazy no matter what you say. If it turns out successful however nobody will care about the price. I understand having to overpay but don't understand paying 50m for Richarlison.

18 Jun 2018 16:16:00
Well just read on sky youth will be given it's chance to shine and I reckon this crop of youngsters will grow into a fine team.

I wouldn't be surprised to just see a cb and a lb and a cf arrive this window, as to who they will be your guess is as good as mine.

Had to laugh at the bs coming from big Sam, it was apparently his desire to lead us into our new stadium! Now after subjecting us to some of the most awful football available, it carries on with

"You must have a team that is going to perform in a stadium of that capacity and deliver. ”

I'm sure he means well but that's the expectation of every fan of every club big or small, now if only he could have used that in his stint in charge. "a team that is going to perform. "

Turf

1.) 12 Jun 2018 16:31:55
It depends on what you mean by perform his teams win games so therefore in his mind perform. For him its all about not loosing not style.

2.) 12 Jun 2018 18:54:01
It's a massive contrast to Silva. Sam is to not lose whereas it's going for the win with Silva. It's why the Sam's and Moyes of this world never win anything at all, ever.

Silva in his short career has more trophies than Sam and Moyes put together. Hopefully with us, he extends that gap.

3.) 12 Jun 2018 20:04:11
Blimey BJU just reading or hearing the words Allardyce and Moyes makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. Happy days ahead with Silva I am sure.

4.) 12 Jun 2018 20:06:45
I understand those points and agree Sam and moyes won't win you a trophy but at least a moyes team showed conviction, Sam's would have been more exciting had they all stood on the goal line. Don't think anyone on here will argue a case for great football under him, mind you with all the football played in 1 half imagine the savings from building half a stadium.

5.) 12 Jun 2018 21:14:23
Games played over two halves so both ends got a chance to suffer.

6.) 12 Jun 2018 23:08:34
Moyes was a great manager for us on a very limited budget, he was not given time at Man United. It baffles me why any blue can knock him.

{Ed0333's Note - I also think he was very good for you but i was flabbergasted he got the United job, completely out of his depth.

7.) 13 Jun 2018 01:51:50
When asked on talk sport who would he play against Tunisia, Died or Henderson, he said. Both. Lol there you go.

8.) 13 Jun 2018 12:01:35
Because he only came close once in 11 YEARS to winning a trophy. Made my club sound like a second rate pub team that should be honoured to be on the same pitch as the "BIGGER" clubs and told us after joining United that if he was still our manager he would sell our best players to the "BIGGER" clubs! 《This was probably the reason he NEVER won a trophy with us.

This is great, that little bit of excitement again after what will go down as our darkest hour. Brands pulling the football strings who I've heard more about and from this last week than all Walsh's time at the club.

Let's not waste time worrying about extra costs that may be involved with Watford, or get bogged down with his relegation with hull, there in the past or non of our concern.

I feel these 2 guys have known for a while in what is football's worst kept secret, and have already a fair idea of what's needed.

I don't expect us to be pushing the top 4 anytime soon and won't be too disappointed if we don't make Europe, we need to rebuild, but as long as the team plays like a team intent on winning that's progress enough crack Europe in the season after.

Turf

1.) 01 Jun 2018 07:26:57
Turf, that is the sort of realism optimism I like. In all honesty we have been run down so badly over the last 5 years, we still rely on Moyes' defence as first choice. Baines, Jags and Coleman are undoubtedly first team first choice players. If we still had any other center halves such as Distin, Stones or indeed any of the others that came and went in his time, we would be in a far stronger position than we are now. I think you summed it up well when you said let's put off any thoughts about Europe/ top 4. let's concentrate on playing some decent attacking football. Of course you build from the back. so we do need immediate replacements for Jags and Williams. as we probably do for Baines and Mori. I won't even mention Martina. when you look at those positions and add in the lack of consistency from Kenny and Keane, you can see where one of the squad's problem lies. Add in the fact we have no left sided midfielder and as we all know. about 10 players who can play defensive mid and we know what needs doing. Yes I wish the new manager well. but I suspect it will all boil down to who we sign in the following positions: Left Back, Left Midfielder and Center Back. The rest will fall into place if we get decent players for those positions. Then it is down to luck with injuries and the rub of the green as they say. Without those signings, I suspect the new manager or indeed any manager would struggle with that squad to play attacking football. Koeman, Unsworth and Allardyce all struggled. so let's hope we sign 3 players in those key positions.

2.) 01 Jun 2018 09:55:00
We also need an additional goal scorer degsyp be it in the form of a midfielder or forward. A left sided player would be ideal. The problem we really have is how do we get rid of some of the poor performers to give us the space to add the extra players we need. Jags has a season left so we can keep him Baines a couple at most. Cole man is still in his prime. Kenny and Holgate suffered having to play in an unsettled defence so they may well come good. Mori is okay, Martina and Williams are not good enough. The problem i see it is it will be a lot easier to sell the youngsters than our experienced players which is what we don't want to be doing but may have of out of necessity. Robles and Rooney going is a start, but they are both two of our better players. Brands and Silva have a hard job ahead to try to get us to where we need to be I don't envy them at all.

3.) 01 Jun 2018 11:57:52
A centre back is a must for me. Jags will do sparingly for a season, there are question marks over Keane and Mori and Holgate could probably do with a loan out to get game time. Williams needs to go.

I agree that the left side is a worry but I think that we can afford to get a younger LB if necessary as Baines can still feature in most games.

I also think that if we need to we can get by on the wings with Lookman, Walcott, Bolasie, Vlasic and Dowell. Although if a left winger who can score and make goals becomes available I'd be happy if we snapped him up.

A striker is a must for me. We need more goals from somewhere, unless you think that Tosun can score 20 goals (which with better service is a possibility, given his shot conversion ratio)

I would also like to see a good midfielder that links defence and attack. A Moyes-era Arteta type.

The important thing in this scenario is to find a few quality players. If they are not available then I'd rather make do and mend for the most part, rather than buying mercenaries who are just along for the ride, instead of quality players who will give their all for the club we love.

Maybe schneiderlin will be the player we know he can be, have to wonder what effect playing under 3 managers has on a player.

As for the lack of anything it always is around world cup an average player becomes an overnight sensation, a good player looks average, personally getting it right comes before splashing millions again.

I'm sure brands Silva Moshi and kenwright have sat there and said this is the plan, this is how we do it and will have timeframes in mind but our part in all this is support, and if possible patience. As there is little else we can do.

Go back a year a lot questioned pickford at 30 mill. Imagine trying to buy him for that now.

I have to trust Silva and brands on players because there is no choice, and if the club feel he is worth the price tag just be happy and get behind the team.

To an extent yes as with every fan early season optimism is there, am I worried by a lack of signings. No. Silva has requested his targets and it's up to the club to get them, but honestly the addition of a lb and cb is a must and the rest should be ok. We tried the magic wand last year now it's building piece by piece.

Think he is a great young talent who needs game time and like all players a settled system. We have not had that since moyes say what you want about the guy but he had a settled team. I think all our youngsters are our future names on next 3 seasons team sheets.
